The Teradek Cube Cube 605/305 HD-SDI/HDMI Encoder/Decoder Set offers HD video transmission with a built-in network aggregating (bonding) function. The Cube 605 employs H.264 compression to stream 1080p/30 at up to 15 Mbps. As an alternative to receiving a stream by Ethernet, the Cube 305 can receive IP video via an optional 3G/4G USB modem (not included), which would install into a USB port positioned next to the Ethernet port. Your video feed may be viewed simultaneously on up to six iOS devices, providing a monitoring solution for both crew and clients.
Features of this set include built-in color grading, a configurable test-pattern generator, micro-SD card recording of the received stream, and a bi-directional IFB communication function.
The Teradek Cube 305 HD-SDI Decoder with Ethernet makes up an HD video transmission solution with any Cube Encoder that streams by wired Ethernet (such as Cube 105). Cube 305 receives the stream with embedded audio over Ethernet, decodes it, and outputs it in the widely-used, edit-ready H.264 codec to switchers, professional monitors and other equipment via an HD-SDI output. H.264 is also a popular codec for uploading files to the internet. An alternative to receiving a stream by Ethernet, Cube 305 can receive by an optional 3G/4G USB modem, which would install into a USB port positioned right beside the Ethernet port. A MicroSD card slot enables saving the received stream in addition to outputting it, and an OLED display on the side communicates transmission status and other data.
Cube 305 supports resolutions up to 1080p/30, which is the top resolution that many common camcorders and DSLRs shoot in. The Cube moreover features a built-in scaler and can upscale any lower resolution to 1080p/30.
The Cube powers by an included AC adapter or an optional Teradek/Swit 945, D54, or VGB6 2-pin Lemo battery, and it is outfitted for 1/4" mounting. Cube 305 is almost identical with Cube 355. The only differences between the two are that Cube 355 features WiFi instead of an Ethernet input and also has a 2-hour internal battery.

The Teradek Cube 605 is a real-time H.264 encoder with 3G-SDI and HDMI inputs. It encodes up to 1080p video at bit rates up to 15 Mbps, allowing for high-quality images to be streamed over Ethernet or USB. When bandwidth is limited, adaptive bit rate allows the Cube to automatically adjust and stream at the highest quality possible. The Cube 605 can ingest up to 1080p60 signals, but outputs them at a frame rate of 30 fps (or lower, per your selection), for a max output of 1080p30.
Cube 605 features support for 33-point 3D LUTs, as well as Pomfort LiveGrade integration that lets you monitor graded footage on the set or afterwards. Looks can be applied to the stream or controlled separately using the free Teradek TeraView app (iOS). Cube also offers support for USB modems for streaming video live over cellular networks.
Cube 605 has an SD card slot that enables you to record the stream for post-production, in which case the recording bit rate and resolution match the encoded stream quality. The Cube 605 also has a configurable test pattern generator that lets you test your stream without connecting a video source, and prevents interruptions if video sync is lost.
You can monitor the video stream on up to six networked iOS devices simultaneously using the Teradek TeraView or VUER app, or six Android devices using the Teradek VLC app, or a mix-and-match of six to accommodate both iOS and Android users. This allows clients, the crew, and the director to see the footage at the same time in real time.
Cube 605 has a robust aluminum housing and an OLED display with joystick navigation buttons. It is manufactured in the USA.
