  • 1Description

With data transfer rates of up to 3,500 MB/s, the 1TB 960 PRO M.2 Internal SSD from Samsung you can boot directly from the drive for faster system startups, transfer files quickly, stream content directly from the drive, and much more. To ensure fast, reliable data transfer rates Samsung has implemented 48-layer V-NAND-based architecture all in an M.2 form factor. This Samsung drive is also constructed to be reliable as it supports up to 800 TBW and a 5-year limited warranty. Once installed, this M.2 shock resistant SSD can be managed using the included Magician software.

Next-Gen Performance
The NVMe interface of the 960 PRO supports PCIe Gen 3 x4 lanes for an enhanced bandwidth and lower latency than SATA SSDs. You can experience massive sequential R/W (read/write) speeds up to 3,500 MB/s and 2,100 MB/s respectively.
Enhanced Performance
As a global leader in flash memory, Samsung provides advanced end-to-end integration for our SSDs. The 960 PRO is optimized for performance and capacity, enabling you to store 1TB of data on a single NVMe SSD.
Drive Management
The 960 PRO comes with the newly upgraded Magician-an advanced software solution for users to monitor, manage and maintain the drive. Magician provides personalized firmware checking and additional functions tailored for individual user's drives. It even updates the firmware automatically to make sure that the drive's performance stays up to date.

    Samsung 960 Pro reviews

    1TB 960 PRO M.2 Internal SSD is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with performance Drive has been working extremely well with an older H97 chipset with PCIe Gen 2x2 on the M2 slot. Read and write are bottlenecked by the older M2 slot to about 800MB/s in and out, still better than I would get with SATA 6. I can definitely tell a difference in speed over the older 840 EVO that it replaced. I'm still considering an M2 PCI card but for now am very happy with as is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not regretting this investment Having put a SATA SSD through over 3 years of hard use and only using a fraction of it's life cycle, I had no qualms upgrading to an M.2 device. The 960 Pro is my Win 10 boot drive, installed a Dell XPS 8910. CrystalDiskMark shows 3278 / 2137 MB/s Sequential read/write -- the write is actually faster than specified (maybe due to buffering?). Definitely enjoying great Photoshop load times, making editing that much less of a chore. Also, backups to an internal HDD are very quick (albeit due to HDD write buffering). No regrets splurging on the 1TB version as it's my primary drive with room for growth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very fast NVMe SSD! Great B&H price! Samsung Magician: Sequential (MB/sec) // READ 3,077 // WRITE 2,077 Random (IOPS) // READ 434,547 // WRITE 276,739 POST to Windows 10 desktop less than 5 seconds: I have other NVMe SSDs which boot more slowly. This m.2 SSD is on the back of an Asus mini-ITX motherboard in a Streacom FC10 fanless case. No overheating issues and silent. Benchmark is with the Microsoft Windows NVMe driver, not the Samsung NVMe driver. Tried the latest Samsung NVMe driver; it made the driver considerably slower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great V-NAND Fantastic SSD speeds twice as fast. Game loading times instant. Great as single or in RAID. Also Low Temp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Made A Video Review Please see my video review where I benchmark the 960 pro to two 840 EVOS in RAID0, and I also threw in a HDD comparison as well. Enjoy!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Samsung NVMe driver 2.1 will BSOD when creating VHDX This drive requires the Samsung NVMe driver to get the advertised performance, but this driver will BSOD with Hyper-V. Samsung has told me they are aware of the issue, do not intend to support Hyper-V, and instructed me to use the MS NVMe driver. This turned out to be a big waste of money, so I want others to not fall into the same trap if you're a VM user.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from INCREDIBLE Extremely fast, though they haven't updated the magician to support it yet. i cant wait to see what i'm actually getting performance wise.
