Hahnemühle 10640774 reviews

Photo Rag Ultra Smooth FineArt Photo Cards (4 x 6", 30 Cards) is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't load, but otherwise beautiful I've tried using this paper onan Epson 725 which printed about a dozen sheets when individually loaded, sometimes after failing and re-loading, and then it refused to suck in another. I even tried bending the leading edge to give it a bit of curve. I also tried it in an Epson XP 640 which again sucked in about a dozen individually loaded sheets (this time only when atop a small pile of glossy 4x6's), and then refused to properly load another. I also tried an Epson 4880 (which generally isn't suited for 4x6's) which won't load it at all. The two dozen prints that I got are beautiful, but it's otherwise worthless since I have no printer that will handle it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love Hahnemuhle paper, but... ...this paper isn't easy to load in printers. I didn't expect to just hit print and end up with a dozen prints in ten minutes, but this paper definitely needs more attention than that. Inside the super cute tin is a stack of the photo paper, cut with rounded corners. What isn't in there is a set of instructions. Luckily, it was available as a pdf on Hahnemuhle's website, but no, it doesn't make the paper easier to use. The instructions actually suggest that you print the photo on a template that comes with the instructions file. The template is 8.5x11, meaning you have to roll some tape on the back of the photo paper to stick it on the 8.5x11 template, load it as an 8.5x11 paper in your printer, print it centered on the page so the image would end up on the Hahnemuhle paper and not on the template...yeah, really. Also, the template must not be printed fitted to page or the guide would be larger than the actual Hahnemuhle paper. Tape can take a bit off the paper in the back, so I wouldn't use anything stronger than pressed, rolled up Scotch tape, which still took a little off the back when removed. Better weaken the tape by rolling it over your fingers first. After reading the instructions, I put down the tin and used another paper. I would use this paper right then if I could set up a base in front of the printer, but I just didn't have time that day. The paper itself was really nice, but that's the challenge that comes with an unusual sized (-1/8 on all sides from 4x6) paper, I guess. I haven't tried my own ideas of printing more easily on this paper, but I think anything would be easier than the manufacturer's instructions.
