Glyph Technologies Atom External SSD Overview

The black 1TB Atom USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 External SSD from Glyph Technologies comes built with a 1TB M.2 SSD and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection with 10 Gb/s speeds to quickly store your content from a Mac or Windows system. This connection features a USB Type-C interface, which sports a small and reversible design, and is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.0 devices. Once connected, the Atom transfers data at a rate of up to 550 MB/s.

The Atom is preformatted for HFS+ with Journaling and compatible with Time Machine, letting it work right out of the box with a Mac. Reformatting is required for use with a Windows system. With a lightweight and rugged design, the Atom is well suited for the rigors of daily travel. For compatibility with a wide range of USB products, Glyph includes a cable for directly connecting the Atom to USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 systems along with a second cable that creates a connection with computers having a standard USB-A port.

The manufacture doesn't state this drive supports encryption to add a password protection. If you would like an alternative option, I can recommend you, BH #SAMUPA2T0BAM. This model offers password protection.
