Leveraging AMD's Polaris architecture, the Radeon Pro WX 7100 Graphics Card is engineered for 3D graphics rendering, video effects, and VR content production. Packing 2304 stream processors linked to 8GB of GDDR5 vRAM with a 224 GB/s interface and 5.7 TFLOPS of single-precision computation performance, the Radeon Pro WX 7100 can fully leverage APIs such as OpenCL, OpenGL, and Vulkan to accelerate graphics rendering and computationally intensive video effects.

The output panel of this card contains four DisplayPort 1.4 outputs. With the processing power available inside the WX 7100 card, up to two dual-cable 5K (5120x2880) displays can be driven simultaneously at up to 60 Hz. At DCI and UHD 4K resolutions, four monitors can be driven for expanding your virtual workspace without requiring splitters or MST hubs.

To keep this card cool, AMD implemented a blower-style cooler. By using a radial fan, this system forces air over the components and exhausts it out through the front of the card. This compact cooling solution is ideal for configurations involving tight spacing between components, crucial in smaller enclosures.

AMD LiquidVR Technology

Reduced motion-to-photon latency enhances realism and VR presence. With the LiquidVR SDK content creators have powerful development tools to generate VR content.

10-Bit Color

Native support for 10-bits per color channel assists color-critical tasks such as photo editing and video color-correction by providing a larger visible gamut. 10-bit images require a monitor that supports a 10-bit input.

DirectGMA and SDI Support

Reduces CPU bandwidth and latency bottlenecks, and optimizes communication between GPUs within a system and third party devices like SDI I/O cards. DirectGMA bypasses any need to traverse the host's main memory, reducing CPU utilization, avoiding redundant bus transfers, and resulting in high throughput, low latency data transfers.

Encoding/Decoding Hardware

With specially programmed hardware, the GPU can encode and decode H.265 video files for decreased render times and smoother playback of highly compressed video.

PowerTune

Power management technology which provides direct control over GPU power usage. PowerTune dynamically adjusts clock speed to operate within the power parameters set by the user.

ZeroCore Power Technology

Shuts down the GPU when not in use to greatly reduce power usage while the card is idle.

AMD WX 7100 Reviews

Easy-ish to install, and wicked fast!

After reading reviews from various blogs about what graphics cards would work best for my eGPU (Razer Core X) for video editing work, I settled on the AMD Radeon Pro WX 7100. And this thing is wicked fast. I'm new to video editing, and while I was taking an online tutorial, the instructor did an effect that needed 30 seconds on his end to render it. The Radeon Pro WX (coupled with my 64GB RAM) did it in 2 seconds. The only challenge I had is that I'm on an iMac. And while this is one of the cards that's automatically compatible with Macs due to Apple's upgrades in recent years (something else I had read ahead of time), the manufacturer doesn't include instructions for Mac. So there are extra connections inside the eGPU that you don't need, since you just plug in one of the power cords and tie off everything else out of the way. Once I figured that out, it worked like a charm, though.

Nice value for creators.

Magix Vegas Video Bang For the Buck Workstation Graphics

By Gill

Don't know why no one has yet to Review this card. We use this for Magix Vegas Video. This card is Bang for the Buck. Why? Vegas Video rendering is done by the CPU. Magix claims they will start supporting GPU rendering. "We will support AMD GPU acceleration!" When? Until that happens, this card helps immensely with one thing - Real Time Video Preview of Video EFX Overlays during playback, in real time. During Video Rendering, the GPU indicates up to maybe 9% of Render Processing. The rest is done by the CPU, more Cores the better! If the video card is not doing much otherwise, why buy a higher end Workstation Video card? Magix Vegas Video is very finicky regarding the Video Drivers. We had to reinstall, same version Video Drivers, without AMD's extra software to get up and running after upgrading Magix Vegas Video to VEGAS Pro 15 Update 5 (build 361). What about BlackMagic Davinci Resolve? One of our Plugins only works in Vegas Video (should work in both but does not) and since Davinci Resolve is going through Betas again, we're sticking with Vegas Video. BlackMagic Davinci Resolve always crashes on us when using the Betas. We don't have time for that. We also use this Video card (with DisplayPort to HDMI Adapters, out to DataVideo DAC70s (1080i, 59.94) Converters and into the ATEM) with our BlackMagix ATEM 4K Video switch with NewBlueFX for our EFX Overlays in real time during Live Broadcasts. Our experience. Your mileage may vary. Hope this helps!

Sharper and Smooth for Rolling Video footages

Intentionally, I choose AMD Radeon Pro WX7100 to collaborate with AMD Ryzen 7 CPU for video editing station. My old monitor is slightly over Full HD resolusion. However, apparently, images on monitor are shaper and clearer than previous desktop PC. I am expecting to have new Ultra Wide monitor for 5K resolution. I can't wait to see via AMD Radeon Pro WX7100.

Love it

This card screams in Resolve. I have it connected to my MBPro in a OWC Helious and editing in Resolve. It's fast. Love it.

Sure. Though it's not made for gaming, you can game on it. There aren't a lot of people who'd use this for gaming so it's uncertain how good this card really is for gaming.

The Hp branded model is priced at what HP as a MFR tells us to price the model at. Also keep in mind any Instant Savings that may be active during the time you are looking will also affect the price. The best way to compare is the MSRP listed above the B&H price.
