With support for the 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi standard, the EWS871AP Neutron EWS 11ac Wave 2 Managed Outdoor Access Point from EnGenius supports wireless data transfer rates of up to 2.5 Gbps. On the inside of the EWS871AP access point are four internal omni-directional antennas designed to offer enhanced coverage to help eliminate dead zones. In addition to dual band support, this access point comes compatible with the 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards ensuring nearly any Wi-Fi enabled device will be able to access the network.

Installation of this outdoor access point has been greatly simplified with support for the 802.3at PoE network standard which eliminates the need to run a standalone power source directly to the AP. Once installed, the dual Gigabit Ethernet ports allow for pass-through power to connect additional PoE compatible devices to the network such as IP cameras, additional AP's and more. EnGenius has even included a total of eight external antennas on the housing, four antennas operating at 5 dBi on the 2.4 GHz frequency and four antennas operating at 7 dBi on the 5 GHz frequency for enhanced coverage. All of the internal components of the EWS871AP reside inside an industrial-grade IP67 rated enclosure designed to protect it from both water and dust allowing it to be installed in nearly any environment.

Engenius has built in to this access point Beamforming technology to provide enhanced reception and coverage by directing wireless signals to connected devices. Combine Beamforming technology with MU-MIMO (multi-user, multiple input multiple output) functionality and multiple users get their own dedicated connection to the access point. Additionally, a network administrator can manage the entire network using a WLAN controller switch or use ezMaster software which offers a wealth of tools including centralized management, reporting and analytics capabilities, and more.

The EWS871AP supports 11ac Wave 2 functionality for enhanced speed and performance for wireless access points supporting enhanced bandwidth available for connected Wi-Fi devices with speeds reaching 2.5 Gbps. Users also benefit from Multi-MIMO 11ac access providing multiple streams to multiple devices simultaneously expanding the bandwidth and capacity of the network.
Industrial-Grade Waterproof Housing
Designed to perform in harsh environments, the EWS871AP outdoor ruggedized AP features IP67-rated waterproof and dustproof casing that ensures the AP can withstand extreme outdoor climates and indoor industrial environments. This includes prolonged exposure outdoors to sunlight, extreme cold, frost, snow, rain, hail, heat, and humidity, and indoors where temperatures are a factor.
Future Proof, Crowd Proof Network
This AP handles densely crowded client environments through its four spatial streams and Beamforming technology, which focuses signals directly to client devices, providing optimal signal and reception reliability for users.
Flexible Power Options with Power-over-Ethernet Support
Designed for placement where power outlets may be scarce, the EWS871AP features a Gigabit Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) port, for powering the AP through a connected Ethernet cable to a PoE 802.3at-capable Switch or with a PoE adapter up to 328 feet from the wiring closet. Utilize the secondary PoE pass-through port to power an additional connected device such as a remote IP surveillance camera or ancillary access point.
Flexible, Simplified Network Management
Neutron EWS Access Points are easily deployed as a part of a scalable Neutron Distributed Network Management Solution and managed via a WLAN Controller Switch or centrally managed via ezMaster software. Together with Neutron Switches and APs, ezMaster is a flexible, highly scalable solution offering simplified, centralized management with rich reporting and analytics, enterprise-class features and no AP licensing, subscription or technical support fees.
