Libec TH-X overview

  • 1Description

Provide stable support to your small camcorder, DSLR, or mirrorless camera with the Libec TH-X Tripod System. Mounted atop a two-stage (3-segment) tripod with a 65mm bowl, the TH-X head provides a sliding balance platform for optimal pan/tilt performance for loads up to 9 pounds. The drag and counterbalance are fixed, and both the pan and tilt can be locked. Rosettes on either side of the head can hold the pan bar for right and left-handed operators.

While the 65mm ball base offers quick-leveling capabilities when used with a tripod, it has a trick up its sleeve. The bottom of the base is flattened and has a 3/8"-16 thread in the center, enabling it to be secured to flat-mount accessories such as sliders, jibs, and more without unwieldy bowl adapters.

The included tripod offers a 30-62" height range for both lower and higher-angled shots. Thumbscrew-tightened leg sections secure the tripod, and the mid-level spreader provides stability and quick operation, even on uneven terrain and flooring.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tripod I love this tripod, I use it with my BMPCC and it does a great job. smooth movements with no unwanted movement. The one thing I do not like about this tripod is that you can not do fast moves with it if you want to shoot an fast paced action shot. Other than that a great product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Decent - But Too Fragile I bought this knowing it wasn't a Manfrotto or the best of the best. But I had higher expectations than what I got. Decent tripod, but the controls on the head for locking tilt and pan are pretty awful. Most of all, the tripod was leaning up against one of my cases, it fell over to the ground, in it's carry case, and a cheap plastic piece broke right off where the plate locks in. Thankfully it still works, but for such a small mishap, sad to see it break like that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far it's excellent. Not as robust as the Manfrotto I was looking at but by the same token, much lighter. The head movement is very smooth. It seems solid. I've used it on two shoots so far with no problems. Can't beat the price. I'd like to have more options with extending the height. I really like the hunting plate. It's the same as the HFMP I have and while it's difficult to get mounted, once it's secure, it's solid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very, very good. This tripod is wonderful. I use it for short documentary-style promotional videos. It is very light but sturdy and well made. The quick release plate makes it perfect for running and gunning. The only thing I wish it had was an illuminated bubble. I would have paid a few more dollars for that. I would definitely buy this one again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Chosen by a professional My professional cammeraman friend suggested this system, has used it and seems to find it completely suitable for our filming situation. In comparison, he owns a tripod and head system that retails for $10,000.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have plans to buy another one. I have serval tripods but this one is the best. It's very strong for my Sony professional cameral. It's easy to operate. At this time I do not have any dislikes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty solid I use this with a Sony NX100 and it's really solid. It's big and somehow heavy but very good to use for serious jobs.
