The Beacon LED Wand-Style Light from Genaray is a perfectly-named 2.3" diameter tubular light source that measures 22" in length and can easily bring some "magic" to your work. The Wand makes an ideal sidelight, rim light, or hair light. Since it doesn't generate any heat, you can get as close as you like to your subject for special effects, or you can even tape it to a wall or shelf for use as an up-light.

The Beacon runs on a removable, rechargeable battery that can give you up to 1.5 hours of run time on a full charge. Since the battery is removable, you can have a spare at the ready. The charging cord doubles as a 100-240 VAC adapter so that you can charge it or use it connected to a mains power source with the battery inside anywhere in the world.

The Beacon's 312 LEDs are 5600K daylight-balanced, but you can use the included filter to change it to 3200K tungsten-balance to match other fixtures or ambient light conditions. Light intensity is flexible too, allowing dimming from 10-100% while maintaining a high CRI rating of 95.2 for accurate color rendering

Although the most fun is to be had by handholding the Beacon, it's also mountable to a variety of grip equipment via its 1/4"-20 female thread. This is where another hidden asset comes in; the Beacon has a 4-channel receiver built into it so that with separate purchase of Genaray's MB-WRT remote, you can adjust the light level or put the fixture into sleep mode. Finally, the Beacon has another hidden feature to make sure that your shoot isn't scrubbed because of the rain. The light's IP65 rated water-resistance makes it immune to moisture, splashes, and precipitation

Daylight or Tungsten

The Beacon's 312 daylight-balanced LED can easily be converted to tungsten balance with the included filter.

High Color Accuracy

The light's high CRI of 95.2 indicates precise and faithful color rendering.

AC or DC Use

The Beacon can run on its integrated battery or via AC current with the 100-240 VAC charger/adapter.

Battery Power

The 4400 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery is removable so you can have a spare charged battery at the ready.

Four-Channel Receiver

A 4-channel receiver is built into the Beacon allowing it to be dimmed or put into sleep mode wirelessly with separate purchase of Genaray's 2.4 GHz MB-WRT remote.

Diffuser

The built-in diffuser takes the edge off the LEDs, producing a soft, flattering quality of light.

Dimming

The Beacon can be dimmed from 10-100% on the unit or remotely via the optional remote for the perfect light level.

Water-Resistant

You never have to worry about the weather with the Beacon. Its IP65 water-resistant rating means that it's immune to rain or splashes.

It's the first time I charge the battery and it's tacking a while. Any idea how long could it take? I use 240v power, don't know if this info is usefull for calculating the time of charging
Asked by: Anonymous
I contacted Genaray with your inquiry. They state that the charging time for the Genaray Beacon LED Wand-Style Light should be approximately three (3) hours. There should be no difference in charging time from either 120V or 240V input voltage.

question

Does this include a battery, and when bundled it now comes with two batteries?
Asked by: Michael V.
Yep - two batteries, one in the unit and another backup. Used the battery for several hours and only used half. Didn't have the light up all the way but it also has an AC adapter and will run forever or charge via.
