SHAPE ENGBP Overview

The ENG-Style Camcorder Baseplate from SHAPE allows additional support for small Sony and Canon camcorders. The rubber on the top of the plate prevents your camera from moving when correctly positioned. The Delta plate on the bottom front and the rear catch hook allow you to quickly mount and dismount your camcorder from a tripod adapter. And you can attach additional accessories like portable lights and microphone systems thanks to its 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threaded holes on the sides. This baseplate can be paired with a SHAPE shoulder pad, a dedicated offset bracket, and a SHAPE Paparazzi handle to transform it into a complete support system.

  • Designed to fit small camcorders for applications such as news reporting, documentaries, and live events
  • The camcorder can be placed in different positions on the front and on the back
  • 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 captive screws match almost any camcorder on the market
  • Rubber padding on the top provides a strong grip, reducing the stress between the plate and the camera
  • Sturdy CNC aluminum build
  • Delta quick release plate and a rear-catch hook match most quick release tripod adapters
  • Possible enhancements thanks to an offset bracket specifically designed to attach this plate to a shoulder pad
  • Possible configuration of a shoulder mount to use your camcorder comfortably all day long
  • 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threaded holes on the sides for mounting external accessories

Hi there. Can the rod mount at the back of the rig be relocated to the front, so that a matte box or lens support can be attached? Cheers
Asked by: Marc
It is possible, however you would be turning around the V-lock at the bottom of the plate, as well as the order of the 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 screws, so that just has to be kept in mind.
