IndiPRO Tools PAS2VM Overview

The Dual L-Series to V-Mount Adapter from IndiPRO Tools allows you to use two L-Series batteries on devices that have a V-Mount plate. Both L-Series batteries must be used at the same time, because only when combined do their voltages equal that of a V-Mount battery.

The adapter also features a 2.5mm DC output that provides unregulated 14.4V, for powering an accessory at the same time as your main device. Generally, two NP-F970 L-Series batteries together provide approximately 95Wh of power. LED indicators on the adapter confirm the capacity level of each L-Series battery. Batteries are sold separately.

IndiPRO Tools PAS2VM Reviews

It works, but not as well as I'd wished.

Bigger than other adapters. Plastic-y, but doesn't feel cheap. Although, with how big it is, it feels hollow inside. Haven't used it long, but it works. The fact the charge indicator is the same as the release button is slightly worrying. Certain situations the battery can pop out while checking it. But my biggest and really only issue is that I am not able to hot swap. Kind of the reason I bought it. Don't know why, but everything powers off when 1 battery is removed. I'm assuming it has something to do with the voltage. Also, it needs both batteries to work. But what I'm powering doesn't need the high voltage. I've used other plates that work off just the one battery. I also noticed on the v mount connector that only the ends are used. The middle ones are just empty slots. Why? Is that what's limiting the voltage? Is it an issue with this adapter or the v-mount plate itself?

Can you power stuff through the v-mount? Or just the dc output.

There are 2 different ways to power with this unit. You can power directly from the V-Mount connection from the back of the plate or through the 2.5mm output jack that is located on the side. You will just need the 2.5mm connector cable to power your specific device/camera.
