The Zoom F4 Multitrack Field Recorder with F-Control Mixer & Case from B&H includes a Zoom F4 6-input/8-track field recorder, an F-Control mixing control surface for the F4 field recorder, and a Zoom PCF-8 protective carrying case. The kit can be used to capture, record, and playback audio with resolutions up to 24-bit/192 kHz, which is suitable for film and video applications.
The field recorder has on-board limiters that provide overload protection for all inputs and outputs and is equipped to record audio in a wide range of environments. With four combo XLR-1/4" inputs, a 1/8" stereo input, and a mic-capsule input for recording six discrete tracks with an additional stereo mix, the recorder has additional inputs 5/6, which can function as a camera return for audio-monitoring.
Additionally, the F-Control is a mixing control surface for the F4 multitrack field recorder. It offers complete control over sound design and mixing with nine 60mm faders (eight + Master) and hands-on input/output control for trim, pan, and track arming. The unit connects to the F4 recorder via USB for seamless operation, while additional USB ports let you connect to an external keyboard to quickly enter metadata while out in the field.
To round out the kit, a custom-tailored Zoom PCF-8 protective carrying case for the F4 recorder is provided—it has room to carry other gear, both out in the field, and indoors. The lightweight bag has top, side, and bottom access to the F4 unit, and with water-resistant construction, and a removable clear-windowed cover, you can keep an eye on the multitrack screen without the risk of getting it wet or covered in dust. Other accessories include a camera-mount adapter, a 12 VAC power adapter, a Cubase LE download code, and a Wavelab LE download code.
