Kanto Living YU4 Reviews
Stopped working after 2.5 years
I purchased these speakers brand new in 2022. I set them up in my wife's office and she uses them only a few times per week at low volume. In May of 2025, the powered speaker stopped working; I found a few different threads of people having similar problems and was recommended to reach out to Kanto support. Resetting the speakers didn't work and because I was outside of the warranty period there was nothing else they were willing to offer. I think new speakers should last longer than 2.5 years.
Toslink input has annoying high-pitch whine
I bought these over the AudioEngine because of the built in toslink to use with my older Macbook Pro. However, regardless of the cable used or the computer used, these speakers emit a high-pitched whine when using toslink. Same whine whether on Toslink 1 or 2. It's annoying and if I had discovered it sooner, I would have returned them. Yes, computer outputs only stereo -- not 5.1 or pcm. Otherwise these sound okay with a sub.
