No, the NexStar SE line requires power to precisely move the telescope in its up-down-left-right axes. You should use a full charged external power supply and keep 8 AA batteries on-hand for backup.

The Celestron NexStar 6SE 150mm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope can focus as close as 20 feet away from the telescope so if can be used to view closer objects such as airplanes. However, a spotting scope would be better suited for such activities. Spotting scopes are lighter and used on standard tripods with faster movement.
