Windows 10 Home

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

    Dell XPS8910-9020BLK reviews

XPS 8910 Desktop Computer is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fast, Hot, Loud I use the PC for photo/video editing in which I maintain a large Lightroom library as well as Internet stuff. It's fast enough and multitasks well. It produces a lot of heat through the case fan that blows through the top of the case, so I've given it good ventilation. It produces more noise than expected at an idle. The fans are louder momentarily when processing large images or video. I like Windows 10 more than I expected.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not a gamer. Thrilled with this machine I researched for six months. I am not a gamer. If you are, this review will not help you. However, I wanted a desktop with speed, 16 gig of ram and a video card that displayed graphics without stalling. Not the supplied on board but Nvidia or the like. Bundled. That was not easy to find in my budget. I also wanted to utilize a dual monitor. I read all the reviews about heat, sound from the fans etc. Not just here but on Amazon as well. It is warm. Keep it well ventilated. I've never heard the fan. For a user (not editing photographs or playing the latest video games) I think this system is exceptional. There are comments about boot time. It boots in way less than a minute. Probably faster but I'm just thrilled at how quickly I am asked for my pin. It came on time. Perfectly packed. I highly recommend B&H. I turned it on. I entered my Microsoft Live account and password. After several boots for the needed updates I was connecting to my old laptop and transferring data. Probably less than an hour. I was looking for websites to load quicker. They load so quickly that I'm stunned. I had a 4 year old Toshiba laptop with 8 gig of ram. So, that is my bench mark. This is the first desktop that I've purchased since 2006. I open at least 16 websites and refer back to all of them for information for work. I have large excel spreadsheets that I work with as well. I thought that my internet connection was slow until this machine arrived. I have an HDMI (with adapter) connection to a 27 Samsung monitor on the installed graphics card as well as an acer slightly smaller monitor connected HDMI to the onboard video. So, the onboard video connection works as well as the graphics card installed simultaneously. Another unexpected bonus. My research indicated that the bios on this machine would not allow that. It does. Highly recommend for a non gamer power user...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value This computer is exactly what I wanted. Lots of capacity, fast processing, great graphics....with room to expand. After years of replacing HP towers as they got outdated, we finally switched to Dell. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of specific instructions about where to plug in what cords and which functions had to be set up - sound, microphone, etc. Those of us not adept at computers, don't know that there are actually 2 different GPUs on this unit and that it makes a difference in functionality. Fortunately, Dell did include an adapter to use for the GPU that we wanted. No instructions, though - we didn't know what it was for until we googled the problem and found others who had the same issue. We got it all figured out, but they could have made it easier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent value at that price point I'm pleased with the Dell XPS 8910. As to be expected it comes equipped with software one may or may not want. I prefer a clean Windows 10 OS. I began by making a system image backup of the PC as it was shipped / received. Removing the unwanted software was accomplished easily with no annoyances. I tailored the Windows 10 settings to my preferences and made another system image backup. I have since installed my preferred software. Performance is very good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs a powerful Power supply, Has issues with USB C buss I purchased my 8910 in March 30 2017 and in general it work well Dell sent out a tech to replace the original power supply, And replaced it with a slightly more powerful unit. Now the Fan does not come on so often. I also purchased a Gliph SSD RAID USB C. I am having trouble with this USB C port on the computer with keeping the drives MOUNTED. a major Issue. The SSD RAID works fine with the USB 3 connection but not the USB C.....
