    Beastgrip BGA106-LD reviews

    BL112 On-Camera LED Light is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from solid little beastie Great little light and most of my (minor) complaints are around what seem to be a bit of cost-cutting in construction. The battery springs are almost comically thin, and if not quite positioned correctly will push the battery askew in its cradle. Only takes a second to line it up correctly, but still a minor annoyance and if it took a spill, you'll be chasing batteries if the filter cover comes off. The mounting foot is on the (slightly) thinner side, but seems sturdy enough, so again, just a minor ding. Neither of these are really show stoppers for function, and all in all I'm happy with the package. Housing and filters are otherwise beefy, magnetic corners work a treat, and the dimmer has a fairly long and smooth curve. Power switch is similarly sturdy, though the light will momentarily blip when switched on even with dimmer all the way down. Haven't yet used the USB plug, which is on bottom, and while it is accessible on a C stabilizer, it would not be on anything with a cold shoe on a flatter surface (BeastGrip Pro, I'm looking at you buddy). In use, this thing gets BRIGHT and both of the filters are useful. Will likely pick up a second for a spare at some point, in spite of the few minor quibbles I have. PROS: - puts out a ton of light in a compact form - dimmable - magnetic corners make filters easily swappable - plastic housing is beefy CONS: - springs in battery compartment weak - foot for cold shoe could be a tad thicker - USB plug better on side rather than bottom
