These hooks would not accept a crossbar. They are made to accept the Impact Varidrive with Black Chain, B&H # IMVPDDSBK in order to hold a roll of seamless paper or other backgrounds rolled onto a core.

Is it possible to use a 5/8" stud with this bracket instead of the regular pulleys? I jsut need a bracket to hold the pole in place
No, it is not possible to use a 5/8" stud with the Impact Background Holder Hook Wall Mounts with Screws (Set of 2). The Impact Background Holder Hook Wall Mounts with Screws (Set of 2) is only compatible for use with the Impact Varidrive or Manfrotto Expan Drive.
