    MSI Z270i reviews

Z270I Gaming Pro Carbon AC LGA1151 Mini-ITX Motherboard is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid little board at a good price This is the first MSI motherboard that I have used. Supports overclocking my 7600k like a champion. UEFI is decently easy to navigate. Auto overclock is passable, though far too generous with the voltage. All in all, this is a solid board. The only real complaint that I had is that the fan headers are all located back by the I/O ports for some reason, which makes cable routing very awkward. Seems like an odd place to throw them. Aside from that, it's nice that you can outright disable the rgb strip if you don't want it, although this does require using MSI's software. I would have liked to be able to turn it off in the BIOS.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid mini-ITX motherboard, not flawless however. Looks very sleek, lot of real-estate in a very compact space. WiFi connection hardware is terrible - antennas are connected to the motherboard with 2 small interlocking wires (mm-sized radius). One of them unsnapped and it was not possible to reconnect - eventually had to use a glue gun to get them to stay put. Everything worked out of the box, temps seem to be relatively decent (running with an i7-7700k and 16GB of G.Skill memory). Only 3 connections for fans, 1 of them is the CPU fan so realistically only 2 separate fans can be connected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great motherboard with awesome features! This motherboard is awesome. It's got every possible feature you will ever need. The best part is all the features added when using the MSI utility.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DOA Dead on arrival. Going to wait for the ASUS one and hope I have better luck with quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent mini-ITX motherboard for any build This board was everything I needed and really nothing I didn't. I was researching Z270 mini-ITX boards for an HT/Gaming PC for a while and it was tough because they are pretty new and there were no real reviews out there. I wanted one that supported a 7th gen i7 and had Intel Wi-Fi/Intel LAN as well as one that supported USB 3.0/3.1 (with Type-C), XMP memory, M.2, and at least 4 drives. It came down to this one and the ASUS RoG Strix Z270i. They are the same price with basically the same features, but I read that the ASUS loses an SATA connection if you install an M.2 drive and the MSI did not. Since I have it in a case that can hold 6 hard drives I thought I would go with the one that would support the most drives since it leaves me with options and I couldn't be happier. It can control 3 case fans with the 2 headers...I just used a splitter. Runs great, runs fast, boots fast with M.2 SSD. Have had it up for the past 2 weeks 24x7 with zero issues. If you are looking for ITX board with the Z270 chipset I don't believe you could go wrong with this one. The only way to get a board that provides more is to get something in a different form factor. I will have to say the only downfalls to it is that It IS a touch on the pricey side and it could have more USB ports, but you DO get a lot for the money.
