The MSI Z270 Tomahawk Arctic ATX Motherboard features a white color scheme with white LEDs as well as an Intel Z270 chipset and LGA1151 socket to support Intel's 6th- and 7th-generation of processors. The Z270 Tomahawk Arctic comes with four DIMM slots, holding up to 64GB of DDR4 memory modules, along with six SATA connectors for your 2.5"/3.5" storage drives and optical drives. For nearly instant access to your data, it sports two M.2 slots that can accommodate PCIe-based SSDs. Additionally, you can build a gaming system with this motherboard by installing dedicated graphics cards to its three PCIe 3.0 x16 slots.
On the rear panel, the motherboard is outfitted with Gigabit Ethernet, PS/2, HDMI, and DVI-D connections. For connecting USB devices, it comes equipped with two USB 2.0, four USB 3.0, and two USB 3.1 ports. Moreover, each of the USB 3.1 ports transmits data at up to 10 Gb/s speeds, and one of them features a USB Type-C interface so you can connect a USB-C cable on the first try. Other notable connections include an optical jack along with five audio jacks to deliver 7.1-channel sounds via a Realtek ALC892 processor.
Aside from ports, MSI has provided three PCIe x1 slots on the board, letting you expand its capabilities with sold-separately USB expansion and Wi-Fi adapter cards.
