Voice Technologies VT506 Overview

The black Voice Technologies VT506WA Water Adventure Miniature Lavalier Microphone with WPMC for Lectrosonics WM Transmitter is used for vocal and speech reproduction in environments and applications including sports, broadcast and TV, film, theater, rugged outdoor shoots, and more. It features a frequency response of 40 Hz to 20 kHz and has an omnidirectional pickup pattern.

The VT506WA is an IPX-7 certified waterproof version of the VT506 lavalier microphone and can endure temporary water submersion of up to 3.3' (1m). It has a reinforced cable that protects against sweat, cuts, and tearing. Included with this microphone is a waterproof Otter box case with foam insert, alligator microphone clip, Dracula microphone clip, foam windscreen, tie-tac clip, and a rubber body microphone mount.

Great for miking up athletes and referees who will sweat profusely.
The VT506WA is particularly suitable for demanding applications such as punishing day-to-day production, sports, rental houses, or for environmentally-ruthless outdoor shoots.
The cable is reinforced to protect it from sweat, cuts, and tearing.
An integral filter provides efficient RF suppression.
This IPX-7 certified microphone can endure temporary water submersion up to 1 meter.

I heard this is good mic but my voice sounds really bad with it. I need to remove 10dB on 160Hz. Really disapointed

First tests of this mic were impressive

I am a professional videographer and needed another Lavalier (pendant) microphone for interviews and random remote nature audio. I have only begun using this particular mic but was really impressed at the clarity & quality within the pick up range. I may get another one if future tests support these initial findings.

Does this mic require "plug-in power" from the camera? I ask because my Fuji XT-3 does not provide power in the 1/8" mic input but this mic seems like a nice choice.

Yes the Canon XA11 has a 3.5mm mic input. You can plug the Voice Technologies VT506 right in.

This mic can be used with an iPhone XS Max, but you would require a Rode SC4 3.5mm TRS to TRRS Adaptor, B&H # ROSC4 and an Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter, B&H # APLAADAP in order for it to connect to the iPhone. .
