Offered as a download, Spitfire Symphonic Strings from Spitfire Audio is a Kontakt-powered virtual instrument that brings together every articulation, dynamic layer, round robin, and legato interval for every string section plus ensembles formerly available in the company's Mural volumes (1, 2, 3) and Ensembles libraries. This encyclopedic compendium lets composers and arrangers take advantage of articulation-sharing between the different volumes, for greater functionality and ease of use, when scoring films, games, and more.
Spitfire Symphonic Strings was recorded at legendary AIR Studios in London with 60 top players in the positions they occupy during a scoring session, using three configurations of vintage tube and ribbon microphones, via a 2" Studer tape machine, Neve Montserrat pre-amps, and a Neve 88R desk.
The resulting library comprises 89365 samples for 147.6 GB of uncompressed WAV files. Highlights include the popular "flautando" and "super sul tasto" articulations, as well as five legato patches programmed by Andrew Blaney. Additionally, the Ostinatum function allows you to build up complex patterns that react to your playing, bringing depth to your arrangements.
The software comes with Kontakt Player and is fully compatible with NKS Native Instruments hardware.
