If you use a file system like NTFS, ExFat or HFS+ (Mac), there is no file size limitation. If you use the FAT32 format, the limitation will be 4GB per file.

Will this work well for long (4+ hours) ...

Will this work well for long (4+ hours) continuous multitrack recording on a laptop? I've had overheating issues with other usb flash drives where the recording will stop after a couple of hours.
Asked by: Alex
Flash drives are not really designed for that kind of sustained use. The passive cooling and small surface area are not ideal for heat dissipation for a sustained use as long as 4 hours. My best advice is to get a proper portable SSD drive designed for those types of workflows. Something like the G-Technology 500GB G-DRIVE USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C mobile SSD BH #GT0G06052 would be far more suitable thanks to its Aluminum core which will prevent overheating and maintain high performance in sustained workloads.

You would need a USB adapter to connect the drive externally (http://bhpho.to/1kwyp4c) The linked Apricorn SATA Wire 3.0 Notebook Hard Drive Upgrade Kit includes software to assist you in copying your drive as well.
