Fujifilm XP120 overview

  • 1Description

A sleek yet rugged point-and-shoot, the FinePix XP120 from Fujifilm is a capable, compact camera offering versatile imaging capabilities, wireless sharing, and a robust water, shock, freeze, and dustproof construction. Utilizing a 16.4MP CMOS sensor, this camera can record high-resolution stills at up to 10 fps and Full HD 1080p video, and the sensor's back-illuminated design maintains smooth, low noise image quality when working in difficult lighting conditions. Complementing the imaging assets is a Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens that covers a 28-140mm equivalent focal length range for working in a variety of scenarios, and optical image stabilization minimizes the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting.

In addition to straight photos and movies, the XP120 also enables creating Cinemagraphs, where a still photo contains select moving elements for a unique multimedia image. Time-Lapse Movies can also be produced in-camera, as well as wide-format panoramas and other creative effects. The sleek form factor incorporates a 3.0" 920k-dot LCD for image review and composition, and built-in Wi-Fi is also featured for wirelessly sharing your work to a smartphone or tablet, or for remotely controlling the camera from your device.

Tough and Rugged Design
The XP120 is characterized by its durable, weather-proof design to enables its use in harsh conditions:
  • Waterproof to 50' / 15.2m
  • Shockproof from 5.7' / 1.75m
  • Freeze proof to 14°F / -10°C
  • Dustproof
16.4MP CMOS Sensor
A 16.4MP CMOS sensor can produce high-resolution still images and Full HD 1080p videos at 60 fps, and its back-illuminated design maintains a smooth image quality with low noise when working in low-light conditions.
Fujinon 5x Optical Zoom Lens
The built-in Fujinon zoom lens covers a wide-angle to telephoto 28-140mm equivalent focal length range to suit working in a broad array of shooting conditions. This 5x optical zoom can be effectively doubled, to 10x, using Intelligent Digital Zoom, and optical image stabilization balances this reach by minimizing the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting.
Built-In Wi-Fi Connectivity
Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity allows for instant sharing of images directly to a mobile device, and is easily accessible via a dedicated Wi-Fi button on the back of the camera. Wireless transferring is also possible to an instax Share SP-2 printer for producing instant prints on-the-go. Additionally, remote shooting and camera control is also possible using the Fujifilm Camera Remote app.
Other Camera Features
  • The rear 3.0" 920k-dot LCD monitor features an anti-reflective coating to enhance visibility when working in bright conditions.
  • The sleek body design places all the rear controls on the right side for easier one-handed operation.
  • A double-lock mechanism ensures security to the camera when working in trying conditions.

Fujifilm XP120 reviews

FinePix XP120 Digital Camera (Sky Blue) is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versital Waterproof Camera Took this camera recently on a two week vacation to Kauai. Took this XP120 and my old XP80. The best thing I liked is the small size was easy to carry in all situations. I take lots of video. Shooting video, the battery will give you around 20 minutes. I carried extra batteries. Pictures and video quality are very good. The only real complaint I have is that in quiet situations you can hear the zoom motor in your videos. No problems with water leakage, but check and double check before you go into the water! I forgot to close the battery cover on my XP80 and I drowned it at Anini beach. That's why you always take two waterproof cameras on vacation to compensate for human error!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Water vapor inside lens after first use I used this underwater camera at a depth of only a few feet for about a half hour. Ever since that, there has been water vapor inside the lens, which makes all photos blurry. There is also water vapor inside the display screen. The waterlock door was properly closed when I took it in the water. Be advised that B&H will not accept returns of underwater products that have been used underwater. I will be attempting to obtain warranty service from the manufacturer, but I would advise against puchasing this camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice smart easy to use underwater camera I bought this days before my cruise and am so happy I did. I had an older model that finally wore out. I chose this one of all the others because I wanted something I was familiar with, I didn't want to learn anything new. It is very easy to use. It has an under water mode that you just click on, no adjusting needed. Then it has a beach mode that you can quickly switch to when you surface. I am very happy with my purchase and appreciate the newer model.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent value The camera was perfect for our two-week sailing trip. Worked well both in and out of the water, and I never had to worry about it. It took lovely photos. It's not as smart or fast as my expensive M4/3 camera, but it was perfect for the holiday. The lens window has an excellent coating: in two weeks of repeated dips in/out of saltwater, on beaches, on hikes, I never had to clean it! It was always crystal clear. I want that coating on my sunglasses!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this again. I purchased this camera to be used while rafting/tubing on our last camping trip. it's very user friendly and I love the fact that it can wirelessly send pictures to your computer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from LCD can not be viewed horizontally with polarized glasses. I gave this camera to a friend who wears prescription sunglasses. She took a vacation the Sierra mountains, and when she returned almost all of her photos were orientated vertically. She complained that she could not see what she was shooting holding the camera horizontally. I was confused for a while, but when I learned that her glasses were polarized, I realized the problem was the polarization of the LCD viewer on the camera completely blacking out the viewer. So be forewarned buying any camera with a LCD viewer if your only outside glasses are polarized prescription glasses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It! This was a gift for a 5 year old since most children's cameras don't take the greatest quality photos. She has mastered this camera in under a week - more like 4 days. And she loves it! Great quality for a great price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FinePix Is Awesomely Fine I've had and used Fuji cameras and lenses (4x5 View camera) for many years now and found them to be superior in every way to other types of cameras, both in quality and wide range of useful features. Other than my Pentax lenses, I would also choose Fuji lenses first. They (cameras and lenses) also offer the best value for the amount paid.
