Eschenbach Optik Sektor 8x42 Overview

With a rubber-armored magnesium housing built for the rigors of the field and optical elements designed for a bright, sharp image, the 8x42 Sektor D-Series B Compact Binoculars from Eschenbach Optik are a reliable companion for outdoor adventures.

Fully multi-coated lenses and BAK4 roof prisms combine to provide optimal light transmission and clarity. Twist-up eyecups accommodate eyeglasses or sunglasses, and a right-side diopter adjustment compensates for prescription eyewear. The housing is watertight and nitrogen-filled, so it won't fog up from temperature change. For fully shake-free viewing, the Sektor D binoculars can be mounted on a tripod.

Love the compact size

I have a pair of 10x56 Vortex binoculars that I use for hunting.  Because of the 56x objective lens they are very heavy and as a result I set out to find some binoculars that were lighter to carry around.  I also found that the 10x opcital zoom was hard for me to keep steady.  I have started doing more birding than hunting and thought the 8x optical might be a better all around choice.  Found these by reading a Birds & Blooms magazine where they were talking about different binoculars and had recommended them.  These are very light weight and compact, lots of eye relief, feel solid and good in your hands.  The lens are bright and clear all the way to the edges (where as my Vortex were a little hazy on the edges).  I am loving the 8x vs. 10x as well.  Case and neck strap are also very nice.  I would definitely buy again.
