The Typhoon H from YUNEEC hexacopter features the GCO3+ gimbal-stabilized, 4K camera with 12MP stills mode, making it a great choice for aerial imaging of all types. The Typhoon H's hexa-rotor design offers better flight stability and more precise control compared to four-rotor systems – plus, it means failure of a single motor will not be fatal. The landing gear retracts in-flight, offering an unobstructed 360 degrees of shooting. Carbon fiber parts and folding motor arms reduce the Typhoon H's weight and profile for easy transport – even to the remotest of locations.

This version of the Typhoon H features a smaller box that the original. The foam that comes in this box is compatible with the separately available YUNTYHBP002 backpack.

Flight Control System

No Fly Zones
The No Fly Zone preset locks the Typhoon H's flight ceiling at 400' above ground level at the takeoff point. This feature helps ensure compliance with FAA sUAS operational guidelines. In addition, Geo-Fencing can be enabled to further restrict possible flight patterns, locking the hexacopter within a user-defined radius of the pilot
Dynamic Return to Home
Simply switch to Home Mode and Typhoon H will return and land within 26' of you
Point-of-Interest (POI)
Locks the hexacopter in a circular orbit pattern around the takeoff point. This mode is especially useful for creating a circular "tracking" shot with a bird's eye view. In this mode the camera can still be moved independently
Orbit Me
The Typhoon H flies a circular path around you, keeping the camera trained on you the whole time. This is similar to Point-of-Interest, except locking onto the pilot rather than an arbitrary object
The Typhoon H will fly up and out, as far as 150', and capture the perfect aerial selfie
Curve Cable Cam
Program an invisible route for Typhoon H to fly along. Typhoon H will fly between pre-set coordinates while independently controlling camera position
Watch Me / Follow Me
Watch Me ensures Typhoon H will stay in one place and always point the camera at you wherever you go. Follow Me tells Typhoon H to keep the camera pointed at you as it moves along with you

ST16 Personal Ground Station

Transmitter (handheld radio controller) and ground station system are combined into one device with the included 16-channel ST16. It features a 2.4 GHz transmitter for joystick operation of the quadcopter. In addition, there is a 5.8 GHz-range receiver for the video feed from the camera plus telemetry data. For ground station functions, it features a built-in Android device with 7" touchscreen
7" Built-In FPV Display
View a live feed on the ST16's 7", 720p resolution display. In addition, it can show telemetry data from the flight controller, such as altitude, GPS coordinates, and remaining battery life. Settings can be accessed via its touchscreen interface

CGO3+ 4K Camera with 3-Axis Gimbal

The included CGO3+ combines a 12-megapixel, 4K camera and a 3-axis brushless gimbal into a single unit designed to capture stabilized aerial video and still images. For live view and remote operation, the camera features an integrated 5.8 GHz video downlink that enables operation and viewing from the 7" touchscreen on the ST16 Personal Ground Station. You can also pair with a mobile device using the free mobile app – available at Google Play and iTunes app stores

Airframe Design

One Motor Failure Survivability
A benefit of six rotors is that one can fail without stalling the aircraft. When the flight controller detects a motor failure, it adjusts its parameters to compensate. Maneuverability and performance will be greatly reduced; however, it gives you the chance to safely land the aircraft
Retractable Landing Gear
The landing gear retracts during flight to provide the camera an unobstructed 360° of shooting
Collapsible Design
The Typhoon H features quick-disconnect propellers for speedy breakdown. Additionally, each rotor arm folds down to a resting position against the drone for a more compact profile that is easier to transport
Carbon Fiber Parts
Carbon fiber components are used extensively to decrease weight and increase durability

Typhoon H Hexacopter with GCO3+ 4K Camera is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good drone but not at the latest firmware level This is my second Yuneec Typhoon H 480. I really enjoy this drone and it flies well. The dedicated controller is a boon. Having to give up my cell phone for the controller like the DJI models is NOT something I was willing to do. The only downside is that this one didn't come with the latest firmware installed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Drone, Average Camera The Typhoon is easy to fly and handles well. It is quiet at start up and seems quieter than a Phantom. When you turn the GPS off the Typhoon really flies! The 360 degree gimbal and retractable landing gear very useful features and not a gimmick. You will occasionally get props in the frame at full acceleration. It would be nice if the landing gear and gimbal were lower to prevent that from happening. The camera is just average. If you shoot towards the sun the lens flare (bad not artistic) and washed out high lights make the footage hard to use. If I point my GoPro Hero 5 Black at the same sunset it will handle the brightness of the sun without losing all detail in the shadows. I guess what I am saying is the dynamic range of the CGO3+ leaves something to be desired. If this had a fixed POV camera where the two sensors are on the front, longer landing gear and a lower gimbal with an attachment for a ribcage modified Go Pro Hero 4 Black this drone would be perfect. I'm not aware of anything like that existing in the sub $2,000 market. Maybe Yuneec will make an attachment to use the CGO4?? I'd like to see two camera drones for team mode. A fixed camera for the pilot and the 360 gimbal camera for the cameraman would make a great setup for action and motor sports coverage. That's what I use this for and while not perfect, it is closer than anything short of an Inspire 2. For less than $1,000 I can not complain. A little extra time editing and the footage looks great. Just don't expect to shoot a sunrise or sunset and have a camera with enough dynamic range to perfectly expose the shadows and high lights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time drone First a first drone purchase, this is perfect! Easy to learn to fly, multiple modes to make shooting a breeze. The controller is really a huge advantage, the screen is great. Software takes a minute to learn, but otherwise a really great product and I am so happy with the photos and video it's captured so far.
