Particularly suited to metal and hard rock genres, the RGA742FM from Ibanez is a seven-string, solid-body electric guitar with a meranti body, a sculpted, flamed-maple top, and a dragon eye burst flat finish. Its bolt-on, three-piece Wizard II-7 neck is fashioned from maple and features a 25.5” scale as well as a Jatoba fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets and off-set white dot inlays.
For electronics, the guitar is outfitted with two Quantum humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge positions. Master tone and volume knobs offer broad control over the timbre and level of the instrument, while a five-way pickup selector is wired for series, parallel, and split configurations, thus facilitating tonal variety. A fixed bridge and set of standard tuners secure the strings and black hardware nicely complements the instrument's finish.
