can I dub from cassette to cd without connecting ...

can I dub from cassette to cd without connecting to amp, and monitoring on headphones?
Asked by: morton
You can dub from CD to cassette -- recording the audio from a CD onto a cassette tape. The CD section is a player only and does not have the ability to record. Recording can only be done by the cassette deck or USB flash drive. You would not need to connect to an amp and you can monitor the audio with headphones.

If you are recording mP3 files, a song is usually about 4MB in size, so a 16GB USB flashdrive can hold approximately 4000 songs.

Is the cassette to USB (MP3) conversion ...

Is the cassette to USB (MP3) conversion self-contained? In other words, does the user simply push play on the cassette, and the song is automatically saved on a USB drive inserted in the USB port? If not, what is the process? And if the tape has 10 songs, does the user have to play and transfer each song individually, or does the system detect space between songs and separate the songs into separate MP3 files?
Asked by: Matt
To record audio from a cassette tape to a USB flash drive using the TASCAM CD-A580 Cassette, USB & CD Player/Recorder, you have the option of recording one continuous file or separating the files manually (starting and stopping the USB recording manually) so that each song will be saved as a different MP3 file. To transfer the audio from a cassette to USB, you insert the USB flash drive into the CD-A580, then press the Source button to select the source to be recorded (CD, Tape, or Line). Then press the Record USB button and the record icon will begin to blink. To stop recording, press the USB Stop button. You can find all of the instructions for recording in the user manual: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/615699.pdf
