LG E7P overview

  • 1Description

View content at four times the resolution of 1080p with the LG E7P-Series 65"-Class UHD Smart OLED TV. It will upscale lower-resolution video sources to near-4K quality for improved clarity. This TV has a 64.5" OLED display for enhanced black levels and virtually infinite contrast. Being HDR10-, Dolby Vision-, and HLG-compatible, it can display a wider range of color with compatible content than non-HDR TVs.

The E7P has built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity to allow access to your favorite apps and Internet-based content via the LG Content Store and the integrated web browser. You can use your tablet or smartphone for media sharing and screen mirroring on the E7P. With four HDMI inputs, there are multiple options for connecting high-definition video sources. It also features a composite RCA input for analog sources. Three USB ports are onboard for connecting multimedia peripherals like flash drives.

Note: Content acquired via certain apps may require subscription to a service.

Picture-on-Glass Design
The OLED module is applied directly to the glass back panel for a clean, ultra-slim profile, and the screen has a minimal bezel for minimal distraction.
Perfect Black & Cinematic Color
OLED pixels create their own light, and can switch off to achieve black levels with zero light bleed, providing the foundation for displaying lush, vibrant color.
Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos
The E7P-series brings both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos together for enhanced video and audio quality.
Active HDR with Dolby Vision
Active HDR analyzes and optimizes HDR10 content scene-by-scene for an enhanced High Dynamic Range experience. It also supports Dolby Vision as well as the backward-compatible HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) HDR standard, helping to assure compatibility with most HDR content.

    LG E7P reviews

E7P-Series 65"-Class UHD Smart OLED TV is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow Factor I upgraded from a 55 Pioneer Elite Plasma to the OLED65E7P. I expected to be wowed by 4K UHD DVD movies and I was, however the improvement in the picture color and detail from AT&T cable feed was incredible. Even the installer was amazed. The picture is incredible both at night and during the day in a well (sun) lit den. I also want to compliment B&H on their delivery to Houston. As soon as the freight company received the TV, B&H notified me of the name and local number of the freight company and I was able to call, talk to a live person and schedule a morning or afternoon delivery. I choose morning and it arrived on time and in perfect condition. I highly recommend this TV.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Breathtaking Beautiful television, the glass bezel and design of this set over the lower tiers really sets it apart, surprisingly the picture-on-glass seems to have less glare (at least it seemed that way at the store). Good sound out of the box but I?ve got it hooked up to my Bose home theater. This TV is a work of art, I HIGHLY recommend! Don?t settle for the C7 or below, sure, technically speaking you?re really just paying extra for the slightly better sound but the design is where it really stands out. The picture on glass is well worth it in my opinion, seems minor but the C7 has a constant silver border around the screen that seems distracting but the picture-on-glass eliminates this and gives the screen a more seamless look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful but fragile I work in broadcast and create content for a living. This is bar none the most beautiful TV I've ever seen. Once you turn off TruMotion and the other processors (though MPEG and Noise Reduction do wonderful jobs with compressed content) you'll see a picture that is as good or better than what leaves the station. The extra money for the forward-firing speakers on the E7 is 100% worth it, there is a night-and-day difference in sound quality between the E7 and the rear-firing speakers of other LED/OLEDs. Three notes... first, this thing is incredibly fragile being only a 65 inch piece of glass with no bezel... so extreme care has to be taken when setting this thing up or moving it to clean. LG recommends only moving the TV with the in-box foam to avoid finger damage on the screen, so keep that in mind. Also, much to my surprise... NO VESA MOUNTING HOLES! So if your plan is to wall-mount this thing, you're out of luck, at least with out-of-the-box gear. And the final issue is that the lip sync frequently doesn't match when changing inputs or resolutions. I've found that it's off by less than the GUI allows you to adjust for (I'm an audio specialist and particularly anal retentive to this), but if you do your research you can get into the service menu and make smaller adjustments on a per-input basis until LG gives us finer lip sync control in the standard GUI. They need to do a better job compensating the audio delay for the picture processing delay automatically, because it drifts often. Aside from that, the picture quality and brightness far surpassed what I was expecting reading the NIT levels and other technicals. More than bright enough. The TV software is very easy to use, and plays content from media servers and hard drives without any setup whatsoever. I only wish it had more inputs, or at least one component input. Only having composite is very annoying. But other than the limitations listed here (which is all of my grievances), a truly amazing television.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from beautiful picture, terrible documentation I replaced a Panasonic 58" plasma hi-def TV with this model. The device is beautiful and the picture is very good. However I am appalled by the lack of a meaningful user manual, either hardcopy or online. I have never bought an expensive A/V component that had such a dearth of documentation!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite an impressive screen It really is everything that everyone has said. I work in broadcast video and I feel like I'm sitting in front of one of our $24k monitors. The UI is relatively straightforward but most importantly the image is amazing. Contrast is great, brightness is spot on and all the features that you'd expect such as HDR work flawlessly. Only down-side is the lack of HBO in the smart apps. This is a keeper and anyone looking to spend the money should not look any further nor second guess the expenditure.
