The black Type-A Pro Thumb Grip for Mirrorless Digital Cameras from Fotodiox was designed to slide into a universal hot shoe, to create an additional grip on the camera. The Thumb Grip protrudes from the back of the hot shoe, providing a secure grip with convenient access to the camera's controls. The grip is made from anodized aluminum.

I bought it for my fuji xpro. the larger size didnt fit my hand well. This smaller grip is a little awkward for shooting the camera but its not bad. gives a place for your thumb to gri when carrying.

Contrary to the description of this thumb grip, it does NOT fit the hot shoe for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX7. In order to slide this thumb grip on to the LX7 hot shoe, I would have to hammer it in. The claim that it can be used with the LX7 is incorrect and misleading. I plan to return this item, which I received yesterday. And as a side note, the interior of the shipment box was absolutely filthy with a kind of sandy dust--quite surprising considering the high level of customer care that I normally associate with B&H. Disappointed.

At this time I do not see any shutter grips like the FotodioX Pro Thumb Grip for Mirrorless Digital Cameras (Type-A, Black) that work with the GH5.
