Styled in a natural gloss finish, the LTD Thinline Series TL-5SM is a five-string acoustic/electric bass from ESP that aims to provide realistic acoustic tone. It features a chambered mahogany body with a spalted maple top, and a single-cutaway design with a cat's-eye soundhole. Its three-piece, set-in, 34"-scale mahogany neck is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard and 22 jumbo frets, and the headstock utilizes Grover tuners.
The strings are held in place by a rosewood bridge that's fitted with a molded saddle, under which the guitar's Fishman SONICORE pickup is attached, thus providing the instrument's full-bodied tone when amplified. A built-in active preamp boosts the pickup's various timbres, allowing you to dial in bass, middle, and treble. The preamp also features an onboard tuner so that you can quickly and easily adjust your tuning when performing, practicing, recording, jamming, or giving/receiving lessons.
