The Ultra-Shot from Glidecam is a versatile tool for photographers and videographers alike. The all-in-one camera accessory has four different modes to help and accommodate for any shooting situation.

In Hi-Hat mode, it converts into a small tripod, which allows you to shoot at ground level, and positions at any angle with its tilting back-and-forth head. The tilting head connects to the Ultra-Shot via a 3/8"-16 screw and has two 1/4"-20 screws, therefore making it compatible with all industry-standard camcorders and DSLRs. Switch to Shoulder mode, and you can hold onto the two motocross grips with the one leg with the EVA foam pad resting on your shoulder. Quick mode transitions allow the Ultra-Shot to work well in fast-paced environments like television, news, documentary work, and many run-and-gun situations.

Fully extended in Monopod mode, the Ultra-Shot will stand at 63.6" to allow working from a higher vantage point. Swinging the grips towards the user and collapsing the Monopod a bit shorter, you now have it in a Stabilizer mode, where the large rubber hexagonal foot rests against your leg or belt to create a steadier shot.

The Ultra-Shot is made from T6-6061 aluminum, and it has a tilting head with two motocross grips. The tilting head has a 6" offset quick release plate. The grips can swivel around the pole by unlocking the knob and you can position the grips for handling the hybrid accessory in any mode. The five-section legs have flip locks and collapse down to 23". Additionally, the Ultra-Shot has a load capacity of 20 lb and large rubber feet for grip on a variety of surfaces.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glide Cam Ultra Shot I am very happy with this versatile camera platform. It serves many purposes well and is truly an ingenious design and very portable. I like using it as a stabilizer and shoulder carrier. My suggestion to Glide Cam is to make the extender clips (all 5 of them) totally out of metal. I broke the plastic thumb lever on the largest tube extender the first day - at room temp. They need to be tougher. I was immediately provided with a replacement - so kudos for great customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so go I got this on Deal Zone day for a great price. I'd say for the price I got it for it's amazing. Not sure if I'd pay the full price for it, even though it's a great product. The versatility is for sure what this product is all about and it really does perform like advertised. It is made of really good material. I use a dslr mirrorless with a monitor so the only thing I really wish they had was a mounting spot for the monitor so I don't have to use the camera shoe. Otherwise I'll need to buy a cage for the camera which I'd rather mount it to the Ultra-Shot. For run and gun and to keep things quick I would suggest this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Potential is there, but it's awful It's a weird product. I thought it would help our run & gun shoots, but I was wrong. I am shocked to see that such a recognizable brand as Glidecam would put out such horrible product. The product sits in a no-mans land; It's not a good shoulder rig, it's not a good monopod, and it's definitely not a good stabilizer. And worst of all, it's poorly made. At a first glance, it looks solidly built, but they took weird choices to poorly glue some cheap flimsy materials in certain critical areas. In fact, I broke mine as I was trying it out the first time! I am not returning mine because I don't want the hassle of packaging this heavy scrap metal back to NYC. Shame on you Glidecam. Shame!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disapointing I think the basic problem was that my expectations were too high for a device that is still basically a monopod, and a heavy, clunky one at that. The two handles are a nice addition, but don't add much, especially by way of stabilization. In fact, since each handle is supported by a different hand, they add instability from side to side. Here are my main issues with the Ultra-Shot: The cantilever locks are not good quality, they constantly need to be adjusted (tightened). The telescoping sections twist 360 degrees, which makes clamping them awkward, especially for one-handed operation (the other hand is holding my $4500 camera/lens investment). The tilt lock on the head is difficult to lock securely, even when cranked as tight as I can get it The small plate on the right side of the head, which clamps onto your Manfrotto camera plate, is very difficult to release as it seems to bind in the locked position, even though the adjusting screw is loose. When in shoulder mode, the padded section has to be slid back behind your shoulder in order to counter-balance my 5DMkIII with a 24-70 lens, rendering the padding useless. It claims it can be used with cameras up to 20lbs. Not in shoulder mode! Enough said...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Company with superb customer service and product that ROCKS! I have to be honest, I'm overwhelmed by their customer service. I bought it from B&H and have it sent all the way to Finland, but unfortunately, it breaks into two parts, the head and the pole comes apart after my first shoot with this new baby. I was so worried, because I find this very useful for my way of shooting and the price point and everything is best to invest, and it serves exactly as how it's meant to. but the quality worried me quite a bit. But then that's when the crazily overwhelmed customer service come into play, and just wiped out all my concerns, that they offer support and help and in just two days, a new replacement unit are ready to go without asking, if you search for this product name on youtube and instagram you'll fine videos about it. If you're looking for a multi purpose gear, I highly recommend this one!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! Versatile - All in one Tool we were skeptical at first on doing many confusion choices today. we saw this at NAB and the read on social devin super graham had used it - picture from social added to this review. we also saw crew at Dude Perfect was using this product, that was enough of an endorsement for us! I knew they have been using the devin supertramp, so we took a chance. sited source: product is great and versatile. we use mostly as mono-pod and hit-hat. customer service is great at glidecam - we misplaced a part and they sent out a replacement right away at no-charge. kudos on another great glidecam. I also liked video we found on facebook from kidron kannons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professionally built, versatile product If you are in good physical shape and have a steady disposition the ultra-shot is for you! Well built, the steady shot is actually a really good tool for handling your film shoot where free hands on camera are needed. I highly recommend this professionally built, versatile product to anyone who needs to move while shooting.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So much potential One thing for sure about this product is that it's really a heavy duty equipment... Although I didn't have this for long it was ok but I didn't have much use for it especially it being so expensive but this is the filmmaking industry and it's expensive.... I would recommend this for those who are always on the go.
