View content at four times the resolution of 1080p with the Sony XBR-X850E 65" Class HDR UHD Smart LED TV. It has a 64.5" LED edge-lit LCD display, and incorporates Sony's Motionflow XR technology to digitally enhance fast-moving images to reduce blur. The XBR-X850E has built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity to allow access to the Google Play store, your favorite apps, and Internet-based content via its Android TV operating system, plus content sharing and screen mirroring with your other compatible smart devices such as your smartphone or tablet.
With one component video and four HDMI inputs, there are multiple options for connecting high-definition video sources. The component input also acts as a hybrid port, which allows you to connect a composite video source instead. Three USB ports are also onboard for connecting compatible multimedia peripherals like flash drives.
Note:
Content acquired via certain apps may require subscription to a service.
4K HDR Processor X1
The 4K HDR Processor X1 with Object-based HDR remaster and Super Bit Mapping 4K HDR technology is designed to produce pure colors at high brightness levels for more natural images with greater depth, detail, and texture.
TRILUMINOS Display for Extra Colors
The TRILUMINOS Display is designed to selectively map colors across a wide gamut, helping to ensure that subtle colors do not become oversaturated and unnatural.
Enhanced Detail with 4K HDR
Combined with 4K Ultra HD resolution, HDR video content delivers enhanced detail, color, and contrast, with a wider range of brightness than other video formats.
Rediscover Every Detail with 4K X-Reality PRO
With 4K X-Reality PRO, individual parts of each scene are analyzed and matched with an image database that independently addresses texture, contrast, color, and edges.
Narrow Aluminum Frame
The narrowness of the aluminum frame is designed to help the TV look slim while focusing the eye on the screen.
Android TV OS
Enjoy many of your favorite smartphone and tablet experiences on the big screen. Android TV with advanced voice control lets you connect and access content, from movies and TV shows to thousands of apps, simply by talking.
Motionflow XR Helps Keep the Action Smooth
Motionflow XR is designed to create and insert extra frames between the original ones. It compares key visual factors on successive frames, then calculates the split second of missing action in the sequences.
Integrated Cable Management
Keep wires out of sight with the hidden cable panel structure. All of your cables can be neatly arranged across the back of the panel and channeled through the stand, so everything looks tidy.
Object-Based HDR Remaster
By analyzing the objects in each scene individually, Object-Based HDR Remaster enhances color and contrast, bringing everything you watch closer to the quality of HDR. Dark elements get darker, bright elements brighter, and everything in between is more accurately lit.
Super Bit Mapping 4K HDR
Super Bit Mapping 4K HDR is designed to create a smoother, more natural picture by reducing color banding. With 14-bit signal processing, it breaks up the solid bands of color of an 8-bit or 10-bit source, up-converting to a 14-bit-equivalent gradation, with 64 times more color levels to deliver enhanced reproduction of faces, sunsets, and other areas of subtle color gradation.
Say What You Want to See with Voice Search
Voice search on Android TV provides you with the power of Google search, allowing you to find content across different services without the hassle of time-consuming text entry. You can also get recommendations; asking for a specific genre, for example, brings up a list of suitable options.
The Content Bar Helps You Find Everything Fast
The Content Bar is designed to be unobtrusive and quickly let you find the movie, TV show, or video you're looking for. Call up the Content Bar and you can keep watching while you scan through live TV, videos on demand, downloaded TV shows, and more. You can even customize the Content Bar to show you the content you go to most often first.
Chromecast built-in for Wireless Mirroring
The XBR-X850E features Chromecast built-in so you can cast your favorite entertainment, like YouTube or Netflix, from your personal device on to the TV from Android, iOS, or your laptop.
Google Play Provides a World of Content
Discover movies, TV shows, games, and more from Google Play.
ClearAudio+ for Clearer, More Immersive Audio
ClearAudio+ is designed to fine-tune TV sound for an immersive experience that seems to surround you. Hear music, dialog, and surround effects with enhanced clarity and separation, whatever you're watching.
DSEE Restores Detail to Your Digital Music
Low-resolution Internet video, catch-up TV, and other heavily compressed audio files don't always sound so great because a large amount of information gets lost when digital audio is compressed. With Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) technology, lost frequency components, especially high frequencies, are restored for natural sound with a more spacious feel.
Clear Phase for Smooth, Balanced Frequencies
Clear Phase uses a computer model to analyze and compensate for inaccuracies in speaker response by "sampling" the speaker frequency. This information is fed back to cancel out any peaks or dips in the speaker's natural response, resulting in more natural audio with smooth, even reproduction of all frequencies.
Cinematic S-Force Front Surround
S-Force Front Surround is designed to mimic the way the brain correlates sound sources to create proper volume, time lag, and sound wave spectrum using only left and right speaker channels, allowing it to emulate three-dimensional sound fields.
Bluetooth Connectivity for Wireless Streaming
Bluetooth technology allows you to make a quick, short-range wireless connection that won't be interrupted by objects in the signal path. Once paired, you're free to stream all of your favorite content - including movies, pictures, and music - from your smartphone or tablet to your TV. The XBR-X850E supports Bluetooth Version 4.1; HID/HOGP/SPP/A2DP/AVRCP.
IR-Equipped Remote Control
The infrared (IR) transmitter built into the remote control lets you control other devices in your home from your Sony TV remote; you can use it to control your cable box.
