Kodak AZ421 Overview

Characterized by its expansive zoom range, the red PIXPRO AZ421 Digital Camera from Kodak is versatile point-and-shoot offering both stills and video capabilities. Using a 16.15MP 1/2.3" CCD sensor, it can record high-resolution stills and HD 720p video with a sensitivity range of ISO 80-1600, which can be expanded to ISO 3200 to create 4MP stills. Balancing the imaging capabilities is a wide-angle to super-telephoto 42x optical zoom lens, which provides a 24-1008mm equivalent focal length range, and uses optical image stability to produce sharper images when shooting handheld. The ergonomic body design also incorporates a 3.0" 230k-dot LCD monitor, a pop-up flash, and is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can be conveniently charged in-camera.

A 16.15MP 1/2.3" CCD sensor produces high-resolution stills and HD 720p/30 video, along with a sensitivity range of ISO 80-1600 to suit working in a variety of lighting conditions. The sensitivity can also be extended to ISO 3200 for capturing 4MP images in low lighting.
An expansive 42x optical zoom lens provides a 24-1008mm equivalent focal length range, covering wide-angle to super-telephoto perspectives, and 4x digital zoom is also available to further extend the effective reach.
Optical image stabilization is available to minimize the appearance of camera shake when shooting handheld in difficult lighting conditions or with longer focal lengths.
The ergonomic camera body design incorporates a rear 3.0" 230k-dot LCD monitor for composing and reviewing imagery, as well as for navigating the menu system.
The included LB-060 rechargeable lithium-ion battery can be charged in-camera and provides approximately 200 shots per charge.
Both single and multi, 9-point autofocus modes can be used, and Face Detection AF is also available to prioritize subjects' faces when shooting portraits. Additionally, Object Tracking helps to maintain focus on moving subjects when photographic sports or other action.
Face, Blink, and Smile Detection functions can be used to help ensure properly exposed, focused, and well-timed portraits, and both Cat and Dog Detection modes are also available for taking photographs of your pets.
A 180° Panorama Capture mode lets you pan about the scene in order to capture a seamless panoramic image.
An HDR mode can be used to maintain greater detail in the highlight and shadow regions of an image for a longer apparent tonal range.
Photo Touch-Up lets you remove red-eye, soften skin, brighten eyes, and enlarge eyes to produce more flattering portraits.
Built-in pop-up flash provides additional illumination when working in low-light conditions.

question

how are the shooting modes
Asked by: John
The shooting modes are great, they shoot but they don't score. They include all of the usual modes: Auto, Program, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, Manual, Face Beautifier, Panorama, Scenes, Video, and Custom Shooting. The Scene Mode includes some of the same ones, and even more: Beach, Face Beautifier, Fireworks, Fish-Eye Effect, Glass Through, Kids, Landscape, Movie, Museum, Night Landscape, Night Portrait, Panning, Panorama, Party/Indoor, Pet Portrait, Portrait, Snow, Sports, Sunset, and Text.

hi! i am looking for a good beginner camera and have currently been looking at this one. is this a good camera for beginners that has good quality?
Asked by: Sofia
This camera is not a bad option for beginners. It just has some outdated older technology. Something like the Canon SX540 HS is a better option.
