    Brydge BRY7001 reviews

12.3 Bluetooth Keyboard for Microsoft Surface Pro / Pro 4 / Pro 3 is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great! - with a gaming/lag limitation The keyboard is great and really makes my surface pro that much more versatile. It allows me to easily type on the couch or carrying the device through a server lab and is great for that, the typing experience is great. Only improvements could be: 1) I do find the keyboard has a slight lag (as many BT keyboards do) or doesn't get all the key presses when attempting to use it for gaming which requires 3+ keys all being pressed at the same time. For this I revert back to the type cover or USB KB. 2) The trackpad is good, but could be better and its also a bit small. 3) Some may find it a little thick but given I swap back to the type cover for flights that doesn't bother me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from update from previous review. So far so good. After a week of use I no longer notice the stickiness i previously commented on my initial review. The only thing I'm concerned with is on how tight the hinge grips are onto the SP4. When my SP4 starts up from sleep, i could see something towards the corners that you usually see when a screen is pressed to hard. But it only shows for a brief moment then goes away. Other than that, I love my Brydge Keyboard!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used this keyboard at CES - Its great! finally a real keyboard for the SP3/4. I can't wait to receive mine. As to the other review mentioning a USB port. IIRC, the base model charges via a micro USB like an Android phone. The USB port on the model with 128gb of memory is to link it to your SP3/4 for faster data transfer

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No Extra USB Port Heads up to buyers! I reached out to Brydge and they confirmed to me via email that there is actually no additional USB port on the keyboard, other than the USB C port for plugging it into your Surface to charge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Laptop-like hinge with additional Bluetooth! This has been awesome with my Surface Pro. HINGE: Before I got this it was REALLY hard to use the surface in my lap. This solves that completely. The hinges are nice and sturdy holding the Surface at any angle I want to put it at while working. BLUETOOTH: As a digital artist and photographer, I need to be able to draw on the surface with the pen, and use my other hand for hotkeys on the keyboard. This was hard to do with the original keyboard right in front of the Surface. This Brydge keyboard has Bluetooth and lets me detach the keyboard and work with it side-by-side with surface, which is exactly how I like to work. Other Thoughts: The backlit keys are a nice feature. I like the tactile feel of them when typing. the touch-pad is a little smaller than the one in the type cover, but it works really well. I've been using it for weeks for now and have not had to re-charge it yet. It is heavy. It feels just a little lighter than the Surface, but I guess that helps to balance everything out when you have it open to angles greater than 90 degrees.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THIS BRYDGE KEYBOARD TURNS YOUR SP4 INTO A FULL-BLOWN LAPTOP Forget about that old floppy type cover from Microsoft. This all aluminum Bridge keyboard make the SP4 like a Macbook Pro. The keys are tactile, you ca actually use this on your lap. There's even a key to call up Mail. A FREAT device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just got it today! summary of review to the bottom. Before buying the surface pro 4, ive been using the same laptop since 2008.....yep, it was time i moved on. One of the things that made me hesitant to buy the sp4 was the keyboard. The keyboard by microsoft looked to thin and flimsy to protect my new investment. So far after using this keyboard for 30mins, I love it so far! Very tactile, fits the sp4 pefectly, and has every key you need even dedicated shortcut keys for multitasking. It would have been nice to have en extra usb port but IMO it would look dumb to have some kind of cable going from the laptop to the keyboard. Since here isnt any data connection between the keyboard since its held with very strong grippy hinge thingies (dont know what to call them) it makes sense there isnt any usb port. The only thing that feels weird for me, though other may like this, is that the buttons feel to sticky or grippy? Same with the trackpad. I'd prefer them to be a little bit more glossy. Anyways summary: -fits perfectly -keys are nice and tactile, but a little too sticky for my liking -solid and elegant build quality, matching the aesthetics of the beautiful sp4 -pairs easily and comes charged = so ready to go! -hinge is sturdy, preventing the sp4 from falling down. -worth the extra money compared to microsofts keyboard. Love it so far, will update if my views change or I notice something else with further use.
