If you are taking a signal from one device (with a USB 3.1 Type C connecter; for example a laptop computer) and you want to display the signal on a TV or monitor with a HDMI connecter, the answer is Yes, this will do the job. But don't forget, you will also need a HDMI cable to go from this adapter to the HDMI connecter on the TV or monitor.
