Nissin Air 10S Reviews

Easy and intuitive flash control for Fuji systems

This is a fantastic and easy to use flash commander, it really is all that I could have asked for. It's easy to set up, easy to use, you can control exposure of multiple groups at the same time, just an absolutely amazing commander. The only downside is that you're locked into the Nissin system with only one radio controlled flash (at the time of purchase, anyways).

Wireless the way to go.

I only used it once at anniversary party. It is better than using hot shoe flashes. It creates diversity for moving the flash in different places for certain lighting situations.

question

will it be absolutely compatible with nissin i40, TTL HSS?
Asked by: Sergio
Unfortunately, Nissin does not produce an Air R Receiver for the i40 with the Micro 4/3 interface at this time. That being said, this transmitter cannot trigger the flash wirelessly in TTL or HSS.

question

Is this compatible with an Olympus OM-D E-M1? Will it work with your i40 flash?
Asked by: June K.
While this transmitter can trigger flashes by Nissin for the Micro 4/3 system, there is no external receiver which can be connected to make the i40 compatible for radio triggering.

question

How do I know if the Air10 is communicating with my SONY A9? the test pilot will trigger i60a flash but won't fire when shutter release...
Asked by: Harry
The Flash Mode in the Camera Settings 1 would need to be set for Wireless (WL) in order to use the Air 10 Transmitter properly on the Sony A9.

question

Nissin Air 10s wireless TTL Commander will be available in versions for different camera bodies: I own Nikon (D810) & Fuji (X-H1, X-Pro2) cameras will I need 2 camera-specific Nissin Air 10s Controllers?
Asked by: Fredrick
In order to have the proper TTL communication between the flash and the camera, you would need the Air 10S Commander specific to the camera you are using.

I have been using the Air1 for a few years. Totally let down by an inadequate display that completely disappears in daylight. Is the Air 10 any better? Anyone used it outdoors?
Asked by: Julian
Thanks. I'd really appreciate some feedback from anyone who has used the unit in the field; outdoors in daylight.

question

It appears Nissin is designing flashes strictly compliant to SONY standard. Does it mean this commander will be able to handle SONY flashes in TTL, HSS as well? Or it will be simply manual (at least without the need of an Air receiver)?
Asked by: Harry
The Nissin Air10s Wireless TTL Commander for Sony Cameras is specifically designed for use with Nissin flashes with the letter A in their name, such as the Nissin Di700A Flash for Sony Cameras with Multi Interface Shoe, B&H # NIND700AS, and the Nissin i60A Flash for Sony Cameras, B&H # NIND60AS. If you wish to use your original Sony flashes with the Nissin system for off-camera wireless usage, you would need to purchase the Nissin Air R Receiver for Sony Flashes with Multi Interface Shoe, B&H # NINDARSNY, to connect to the bottom of the off-camera Sony flash. Sony's built-in wireless radio system on their newer flashes is proprietary and not compatible with Nissin's radio system, but the above receiver will allow you to use the Nissin Air10s with your Sony flashes.
