Nanuk 923 Reviews

big, strong, limited

I've had this a year and a half. Used it constantly for eight months but gradually found myself using it less, and now only in specific situations. Here's my four takeaways-- 1) It's huge and heavy and great for situations where these don't matter, and you're legitimately concerned it might get roughed up. Absolutely tough as nails. 2) Very little room for peripherals-- it's built to protect your laptop, a power brick, a couple cords and not much else. i've had to become clever at finding ways to pack my bits in there, and usually use a second case for some of it (...and if, like my spouse, you like to stash protein bars, hard copy, or other miscellanea with your computer, forget about it). 3) It's probably overkill if you'll be travelling with your computer by your side-- you're paying a lot for a tougher shell than you'll need, at the added cost of significant bulk, tiresome weight, and probably the need for a second bag. 4) Having said all that, this case does exactly what it says it will do, and it does so very well. I have no fear of stuffing this unit in my truck with my heavy gear and my dogs, or in an overhead bin on a plane. I just don't really do that very often.

This is an absolutely fabulous case!

I usually use Pelican cases but I bought this to transport an extremely delicate piece of art and these cases are absolutely great! I love the silent and steady latches which for this are great as they don't take great force to open. The case seems slightly less rigid than the equivalent Pelican, but that's only really relevant if you're parking a truck on top of it.
