Epson XP-440 reviews

Expression Home XP-440 Small-in-One Inkjet Printer is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 470.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from It prints, so that's good. I've used Epson printers both at home and at work. Usually I have nothing bad to say at all about Epson's products, but this one I can't let go. This printer prints crooked. Right out of the box, first print, crooked. I looked for solutions online and it says try cleaning the rollers etc.. But this is a brand new printer. It shouldn't be doing this. No matter how much effort you put into making sure the paper is set in the feed slot straight, and where it should be, you'll get a crooked print. My friend owns one of these and he told me the same thing, and that he has had these issues since he bought it. Now he just 'deals' with it. I'm sorry but the FIRST design function of a printer should be that it prints STRAIGHT. There should be no effort on the consumers part besids loading the paper properly. Sorry Epson, I do like your products, but this one I cannot endorse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and reliable When I first bought the printer, I was skeptical that it would do everything I needed (based on the price). I found it was exceptionally easy to set up and works very well. I have not issues with this printer and would recommend it to anyone looking for a home printer for personal or work use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cheap, does the job, & doesn't take up much space I've had several in the XP series. My last was XP-410. XP-440 is the same size, shape, design, a compact space-saver. Doesn't break the bank. Ink cartridges are reasonably priced & separate so that if 1 runs low, you can replace the 1. Would probably not be good for really heavy use, but I do use my printers heavily several times a year... & they've done OK. My major caution is to print something once or twice a week. A persistent problem with all the XP home series is that the nozzles clog if the printer is allowed to sit too long. The price is right so that if it does bite the dust, you're not freaking about the cost of a new one unless you're dead broke.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Compact Printer! Upon receiving this printer, I was shocked at its compactness. I was so excited to exchange my massive HP printer with this efficient Epson one. Not only is it sleek and compact, but it also very quick both from my phone and my computer. Unlike my old printer, the colors printed from this one are vibrant and remain precise. However, I do have to express my concern regarding the cartridge sizes. They are extremely small and do not look like they will last nearly as long as I had hoped. Nevertheless, for its size and efficiency, it is an excellent printer that I am enjoying very much. “This is a review for the Epson Expression Home XP-440 Small-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A lot in a little package All in all it seems to be a good cheap printer. Plastic does feel a little thin and they really changed up a the design quite a bit; but, once you figure out what to remove when setting it up and follow the exact procedures you should be ok. I would definitely have the manual handy with this one simply because a lot of the trays and plastics are thin and you don't want to snap something by moving it the wrong way. Software and WiFi set up was a BREEZE. I found it very easy. Pay attention to the control panel, it pops up a little from the bottom by squeezing the release edge at the bottom and you have to squeeze it again when locking it back down in place. Take care not to break it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Setting Up Printer initially I've had 2 other Small-In-Ones before, but this one was a little harder to set up. i.e. would not scan by selecting "Scan" form the printer icon. I have to use Image Capture or Preview to scan text. And help for this was not obvious. You need to automatically download the User Guide so it is readily available for troubleshooting. Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer for the best price “This is a review for the Epson Expression Home XP-440 Small-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. This is very compact and great printer and doesn't occupy much space on your desk. The printer setup is very easy and quick. Once I unboxed, and have the cartridges set up, I was able to quickly connect it to the Wi-Fi and did some couple of testing with phone, Laptop and desktop/PC. I opened a PDF document in my iPhone 5s and tried to print it, where it quickly listed out the printers name. Within seconds of choosing 'Printer name' , I got the paper printer in less than 1 minute. The quality was amazing and I couldn't find a trace of ink blurry in the printer paper. The color of the ink in the font was uniform throughout the document with an amazing quality. I did the same test from my Laptop and Desktop where I was able to quickly find out the printer once I select the print option. I tried testing from different rooms in my home and still was able to detect the printer correctly and have the documents printer. The price is worth and inexpensive for the high quality product that we receive.
