CAIG Laboratories DeoxIT Overview

The CAIG DeoxIT Equipment Care Kit from Hosa Technology is designed to clean, enhance, and protect connectors and equipment jacks to keep your electronics working at their best. The kit includes a .25 oz bottle of DeoxIT solution and a .25 oz bottle of DeoxIT Gold solution, lint-free cloths, swabs, and cleaning brushes.

DeoxIT is a fast-acting deoxidizing solution that cleans, protects, lubricates, and improves conductivity. DeoxIT Gold is a conditioning solution designed for slight cleaning and is intended for use on new and recently cleaned surfaces only.

I have a Nikon speed light that hasn't worked for a couple of years. I tried everything I could think of to get it to work, but nothing did. Then I heard about this product and decided to give it a try. It took two applications, but my flash is working perfectly now. I just needed to clean the contact, and this did the trick.

I purchased this kit to clean and protect a vintage Roland M-24E (their 24-Channel Mixer from 1988). It restored every channel and got rid of any sound crud from age. I'm super thankful! And the protectant gives me peace of mind. I used about half of each container to clean 14 XLR and 72 line inputs, but wasn't trying to conserve it. With more care, you could easily stretch these little bottles out across a wide range of devices. The cleaning tools will need to be replaced but they are very inexpensive and can be bought in bulk.

I need to clean the contacts on my female XLR connectors. Is this appropriate for that job?

There is no product better suited to this task. been using it since the 90's. If you're like me, order 2. Your likely to start cleaning just about every connector in your rig with it. Just don't EVER clean mine faders with it, it will ruin them. There is a special Caig product for cleaning scratchy sounding faders on a mixing console that will not destroy the mylar fader material.

No, the output flow of the CAIG Laboratories DeoxIt D5S-6 Strong Deoxidizer Spray is not adjustable. It has a standard push-button like a common aerosol spray can.

CAIG Laboratories DeoxIt D5 is not a B&H special product. It is available elsewhere. It is possible that we may have an older photo posted. The actual product label may be different.

Can this product be used to clean internal memory ...

Can this product be used to clean internal memory card contacts like the ones found on a CF Card or CF Express card? Will spraying this in the card damage it?

The CAIG Laboratories DeoxIt - Strong Deoxidizer Spray is designed to deoxidize metal surfaces and electronic components. While it may work to clean contacts on flash memory cards, we do not recommend using Deoxit in this manner before first verifying it is safe for this use directly with the card manufacturer.
