Both fast and wide, the Canon EF-mount 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM from Sigma is a unique wide-angle prime designed to produce high-resolution, well-corrected imagery. As part of the Art line of lenses, this lens has a focus on image quality and rendering, and utilizes both FLD and SLD glass elements to control chromatic aberrations and color fringing for notable clarity. Four aspherical elements, including the front large-diameter precision-molded glass element, also contribute to reducing distortion and spherical aberrations for improved sharpness and accuracy. Additionally, a Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to individual elements to suppress lens flare and ghosting for greater contrast when working in strong lighting. Well-suited to astrophotography and low-light outdoor shooting, this lens presents a unique blend of a broad perspective and fast, flexible performance.

What size Luxgear do we need for the focus ring?
What size Luxgear do we need for the focus ring?
This lens has an outer diameter of 95.4mm, we do not have a Cool Lux Gear that will be large enough for this lens. Instead we recommend the Wide Open Camera Universal Lens Gear, B&H # WILU.

How well does this one work for group fotos? Like nice and clean crisp?
I would never use a 14mm for people photos. It's way too wide and would distort perspective, especially on the ends.14mm is best for wide sweeping landscapes and astrophotography. For groups, don't go wider than 50mm. I would say an 85mm would be a better group portrait lens.

Has anyone used this lens to photograph a large group (100+) and if so how did it perform?
The Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF is a very good sharp lens. Note any lens that wide will give you some distortion. Most do not use such a wide lens for portraits.

Does anybody have test shots showing stars in the corners? I’m mostly curious about Coma at f/1.8 since one review complains about coma while another claims there is no coma.
Wide angle lenses with low f-stop tend to have some chromatic aberration

question
Will this lens support Canon's duel pixel auto focus system? I'm considering buying this over Canon's native 14mm f/2.8, for use with our Movi M5, however accurate and fast face detection would be necessary for this use, specifically the type that is only afforded through Canon's duel pixel auto focus system, which we have grown to love on both our 5D Mark IV and our 7D Mark II.
Yes, you will still have dual pixel auto focus with this lens. You will be able to use face detection as well.
