A Super Multi-Layer Coating has also been applied to suppress lens flare and ghosting for accurate color fidelity and high contrast, and a protective coating has been applied to the front element, too, to benefit working in harsh climates. Additionally, extending its versatility, a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture affords consistent performance throughout the zoom range as well as greater control over depth of field.

Is this lens Parfocal? I used another sigma lens in the past (don't quite remember which one...I think it was the 18-35) and it wasn't.
I'd be using this for Video so it would be helpful to know ahead of time so my Focus Puller/ 1st AC won't be caught off guard.
This is not a Parfocal lens , the focus will change as you change the zoom (focal length)

What is your opinion about the Sigma 24 70 2.8 lens vs Canon 24 70 2.8? Which is the best option?
Sigma is a great lens even image stabilized!
Here is my list of must knows:
1. Totally worth upgrade if upgrading from Canon 24-70mm original. Sigma has upgraded glass and stabilization. Focus speed is amazing. It is well built and looks great!
2. Sigma takes advantage of all Canon in-camera lens correction and optimization features just like native canon lens.
3. Sigma is noticeably heavier. Yes noticeably!
4. Sigma must be calibrated with sigma dock. Don’t expect the lens to focus exactly out of the box, however after calibration it is spot on.
5. Sigma has zoom and focus ring location swapped. It is noticeable negative. Rings are too close together. Definitely designers of this lens never used it. It is one if the biggest deal breakers to many, especially for people that shoot both photo and video.
