Will this work with a macbook pro on catalina using time machine and also does the connector go into macbook pro?
Asked by: Deanna
Yes, it can but it will need to be reformatted on the Mac as HFS+. And if your Macbook Pro only has USB-C ports, you will need an USB-C male to USB-A female adapter such as https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1128928-REG/apple_mj1m2am_a_usb_c_to_usb_adapter.html

question

Drive running slowCan anyone help? Running a speed test on both thunderbolt and USB 3 I'm getting read/write speeds of around 60 mb/s running a speed test. Is there something wrong with this drive or must I simply get something else for video as this is only good for PAL/NTSC according to the test. I'm on a Mac Book Pro 2.2 Ghz i7 which has a solid state internal. Both the MBP and drive are just over a year old. Thanks for any advice
Asked by: Isa-Lee J.
Even though the Buffalo 2TB MiniStation Thunderbolt/USB 3.0 Portable Drive has connection speeds of 5Gbps/USB 3.0, 10Gbps/Thunderbolt, doesnt mean you will get that speed. Transfer speeds are limited to the slowest component, in this case the single spinning drive. For a speeder option consider a solid state drive, or portable RAID 0.
