Savage 500W LED Studio Light Kit

BH #SALED60KR • MFR #LED60K-R
Savage 500W LED Studio Light Kit
Key Features
  • 2 x Umbrella AC Socket Lamp Heads
  • 2 x Daylight-Balanced LED Lamps
  • 2 x Translucent Umbrellas (33")
  • 2 x Light Stands (6')
The 500W LED Studio Light Kit from Savage is built around two fan-cooled 30W LED lamps that generate the equivalent of 250 watts of tungsten light while drawing very little current and running barely warm to the touch. The daylight-balanced LEDs are 90 CRI-rated for accurate color rendering and provide 20,000 hours of lamp life, making them virtually maintenance-free. Each lamp comes with a warming and a cooling filter to offer refinements to the color temperature. Two E26 sockets hold the lamps, and they're each supported by a 6' light stand. The two 33" translucent umbrellas soften the output and can be used in traditional bounce mode or in shoot-through mode for snappier contrast. A wireless remote is provided to control on/off functions at distances up to 85'. It all fits in the included padded kit bag.

Good But Not Enough

The 500 W LED Studio Light Kit is good, but not enough wattage to brightly light the subject for a professional video self-tape to be submitted to Studio Casting Directors. More light is needed - and even when the gels are changed to give maximum amount of light.

Perfect for my work

I purchased the Savage 500W LED Studio Light Kit and it is everything I had hoped for. It arrived neatly packed in its carrying case. I had no problems assembling the lamps. The remote control was also simple to use. My test photos using this lighting system were far better than any photos I had taken of my art work before. I highly recommend this product.

Buzzes and glitchy

It's cheap and quite promising for what I needed it for. But one of the lights buzzed and the remote is glitchy. Can work if you're doing stills, but if you're doing solo video content production just know you get what you pay for.

Lights work great for my purpose. I use them in a smallish space and they do quite well. Would recommend them to anyone doing close up 8' or so to subject lighting.

I contacted your service department about this product which came with one defective bulb and I am still waiting to hear from them, so I think I will really like it when I can actually use both lights.

I am very pleased with this kit. I am definitely a novice in the use of supplemental lighting and portraits. I got this kit so that I could experiment with headshots for friends and family. I am pleased at how easy it was to set up. I especially like the remote control for the lights. It is easy to stow away in the carrying case, as well.

I love these. They are so easy to use and do not get hot so I can pack them up soon after the shoot. The kit is light weight so it’s easy to move from shoot to shoot.

There are many adapters that work in those stands to fit a speedlight. This is some of them, https://bhpho.to/3JmNRjT

question

How do you change the warming and cooling filters.
Asked by: Melissa M.
To remove the clear dome, screw counterclockwise until the dome separates from the bulb. If you prefer a warmer light, add the orange dome by screwing to the front of the bulb in a clockwise direction until snug. Add the blue dome to add a blue special effect.

question

With so many misplaced reviews on this product (e.g., eclipse), it's worth asking: do THESE bulbs really have fans in them? That's a non-starter for my intended video use.
Asked by: ZenGeekDad
Yes, these bulbs do have fans in them and they are much louder than I anticipated.
