The 500W LED Studio Light Kit from Savage is built around two fan-cooled 30W LED lamps that generate the equivalent of 250 watts of tungsten light while drawing very little current and running barely warm to the touch. The daylight-balanced LEDs are 90 CRI-rated for accurate color rendering and provide 20,000 hours of lamp life, making them virtually maintenance-free. Each lamp comes with a warming and a cooling filter to offer refinements to the color temperature. Two E26 sockets hold the lamps, and they're each supported by a 6' light stand. The two 33" translucent umbrellas soften the output and can be used in traditional bounce mode or in shoot-through mode for snappier contrast. A wireless remote is provided to control on/off functions at distances up to 85'. It all fits in the included padded kit bag.

Savage 500W LED Studio Light Kit is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Worked! My daughter's 18th birthday party. 30 girls. Set-up a 'Photo Booth' Huge hit! They took over 600 photos! Lighting was great and the images worked out well and looked terrific. Far better than 'selfies' or lousy phone photos. Everyone was very happy with the results. Set-up a Canon T2i on a tripod with AC power, remote shooting so the images came up on a computer screen for review and a remote shutter. Made everything a one button operation. My wife wondered why I bought this kit, thought I was nuts, but after the party she wants to borrow it for her friends party. i'll think about renting it to her. Quality is fine for what it is for. Love the LED lights, cool and bright. Was left on all night without a problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid. Unfortunately, what appeared to be a nice modestly priced startup set led to some disappointment. One of the socket units had a defect so the the vertical metal tab inside was bent forward so that when I screwed the light in and turned on the power there was a massive short circuit. Besides throwing my circuit breaker it melted part of the power cord, making the socket unusable. Never in my life have I encountered something as simple as a socket for a light of any kind that had done this. To make matters worse, Savage does not sell these sockets separate from the set, so there was no way to replace it without exchanging the whole thing. Very poor quality control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved by B&H My living depends on taking good photos of the products that I sell online. Normally I shoot with natural light, but this winter has been dark and nonstop rain. I know NOTHING about lighting, so called B&H. The nice guy I spoke with asked all the right questions and recommended these lights. Easy to set up and easy to use. And, they really work well. Photos (iPhone 6+) look better than ever. I like them so much I ordered another set. I really didn't think I would get this level of quality for $136 bucks a set. And if it wasn't for the expert service at B&H, I would have bought the wrong lights I'm sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect mobile studio light set This 2 light set is super portable in its own travel bag, sets up easily and the LEDs are great for any indoor or outdoor setup that needs close in photos or in close video infomercials. I'm an amateur videographer (use my iPhone exclusively) that loves to shoot and this setup is great for on location in a den or living room or on the deck in the back yard. It's portability is a compromise from substantial, permanent studio lighting, but that's what you want in a mobile setup. Just don't jam and slam it around and it will last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value, Good Product I bought these to upgrade from high wattage tungsten lights to something cooler and longer lasting. I use it on various still and video projects, product photos, portraits, technical photos etc. I was a bit nervous choosing such an affordable kit, but these are good! The lights are plenty bright, and can be used direct for sharp shadows or with the umbrellas for softer lighting, unlike LED panels which can't produce point-source, hard shadows. The LED lights themselves are made to replace normal screw-mounted bulbs, so you can replace them easily or use the bulbs in a different fixture. They have a small fan that can barely be heard. I like the integrated bulb fixture & umbrella mount made of a thick plastic. It is easily tilt-adjusted and the umbrella holder is spring mounted (no thumbscrews to turn), can be inserted from either side. Realize that you can't use this plastic with a 500 watt (or even 100 watt) bulb - it will likely melt. But with cool running LEDs that isn't a problem. The cords are long enough if the lights are fully extended and reach a few extra feet away. Of course longer runs will need an extension cord (but nothing heavy-duty, even a 16 gauge should be fine). The stands are decent too. Not the thickest and sturdiest I've seen but certainly adequate. They are lightweight and if treated decently should not fail to work. The bag is a nice addition, and unlike most bags where the object can barely be squeezed inside with a lot of effort, this bag has plenty of space for some extra stuff like extension cords and even another pair of lights and stands. The umbrellas themselves are workable, though not the best quality I've worked with in terms of ruggedness. For the price they seem good enough. They do a good job of either diffusing or reflecting light, though I seem to prefer the quality of the light through the fabric. Because these are cool LED lights, there is no problem putting the lights fairly close to the umbrella, you will not overheat and burn the umbrella. In summary, it appears the Savage guys did their homework with this design, it doesn't seem to have any major flaws or a build that is obviously cheap. They work for me and should work for you too. I like them and for the price I definitely recommend them, even as an addition for lights you already have.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the price I use these for interviews, and they do a fine job. Natural looking light. My first pair of LED lights, and I love the fact that they don't get hot. There is a slight high pitched buzzing noise which is sometimes audible in my camera, but it's honestly not a huge deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to useworks like a charm. I bought this product because I needed a simple two light setup up for interview videos. I liked the idea of the LED lights. They seem durable and survived a plane trip packed with the regular cargo luggage for a trip to Alaska. The cooling fans in each light are very quiet. The setup is quick and easy. The lights aren't super bright, but work well for close-up work, or headshot interview type of situations. The stands are light, but seem well made and were stable. I'm not sure how this kit would hold up to heavy duty use or extreme lighting situations or locations, but for occasional use or as a permanent studio setup, I'd imagine they will do fine. The carrying case works well. I would suggest getting some extra padding for the lights, (Wrapping the boxes in a towel or something for extra padding if using the soft case). Overall great package for a simple two light setup at a fantastic price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value The stands are stiff, stable, and easily adjustable. They are also taller than the advertised 6' height. The lights are bright, consistent, and relatively cool. The light fans are barely audible. Everything fits nicely in the included bag. The polycarbonate light covers scratch easily and came scratched, but do not affect the light quality. This light kit exceeds expectations at a low price.
