I have spent a ton of money looking for an adapter to connect to external monitors to my laptop. This adapter works GREAT!!! Was affordable & I am so much more productive at work now. Customer service b/f the sale was exceptional & all my questions were answered b/f I made the purchase.

I have a Mid 2010 iMac which uses 2.0 this video adapter supports 2 monitors and works great for me.

Only good for mirroring

Unless you want to mirror your desktop image on two monitors (and what would be the point of that), this product is worthless. It appears that it used to allow users to extend their screen between two monitors, but now (I have a 2016 MacBook Air) Apple's software doesn't allow that. The solution, if you're using older Mac equipment and want to use two monitors, is to use your MiniDisplay port for one, and a device like this (although I got the single HDMI version) for the other monitor. But don't try to split the signal to two monitors through one port with this device. It won't work.

The adapter works ok but you can only have 2 displays mirrored. When i purchased it was my understanding this would allow me to use 2 displays in an extended desktop mode, not mirrored so I just tossed it aside as i already have a few regular adaptors that i use and work just as well

I got this for my Lenovo think pad so I could use 2 27 inch monitors. Had 2 other HDMI splitters that only allowed duplicate the desktop. This made the Laptop see both monitors and could extend to both of them.

Doesn’t extend display on Air

I bought this thinking it may be the only thing I can find on the market that can extend display on a MacBook Air 2019. Of course it doesn’t and the box has to be pristine in order to send it back or they charge you which is ridiculous. Anyway basically threw it out because it’s useless

will this work for Surface Pro? also, do it need to be charged with USB connection for power at all time? I asked because I use the USB to connect to my wireless keyboard and mouse.

Our Surface Pro 3 and 4 have a single mini DP port for video output. I use a mini DP to one HDMI port adapter with my Surface P4 and large display in extended mode everyday at work without issue.

All this does take the signal from your iMac and broadcast it, mirrored, on two separate monitors. It DOES NOT WORK if you want to extend your screen between two monitors. Who wants to do that? This doesn't do what you want it to do and this lack of functionality really should be made clear on the Specs page.
