Epson BT-300FPV overview

  • 1Description

View your drone's video feed and key flight statistics with the Moverio BT-300FPV Smart Glasses from Epson. These first-person-view (FPV) glasses feature transparent displays that allow you to view real-time video and augmented reality (AR) flight data while still keeping the aircraft in sight. You can also record video or take pictures of your drone in flight thanks to the built-in 1080p camera. The camera is built into the frame of the glasses, so the images will be from your point of view. The BT-300FPV comes with 16GB of internal storage and the controller features a microSD port, so you can save your images and video on device or a compatible microSD card (sold separately). The BT-300FPV is a DJI-compatible accessory and comes with custom clips to securely attach the controller to a DJI remote; the DJI GO app also comes preloaded. The BT-300FPV's battery lasts up to 6 hours on a full charge.

    Epson BT-300FPV reviews

Moverio BT-300FPV Smart Glasses is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great concept, mediocre implementation The glasses fit great. In fact, compared to Google Glass, Samsung Gear and other such products the Epson glasses are small, lightweight, can be used in dark and bright settings, and best of all don't block your seeing the rest of the world around you. Not all is great with these glasses. Finding and setting up the app was difficult. Epson should distribute app from Google Play store. Once setup and connected to my bird I found the video to be full of glitches. Maybe I received a bad unit, or software just didn't like my bird but I have read that others have had same problem and many are pointing to lack of an HDMI port as the culprit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inspire 1 drone pilot. Have been using the product for over a month for flying my DJI INSPIRE 1 drone. It took me about 1/2 hr to get use to focus between the head up display(HUD) of all the control and the line of sight of the drone. Once my visual and my brain adapted to the smart glass it was then I enjoy the reason I purchase the Moverio BT-300FPV. This unit is not only lightweight and compact but is also useful as a cinematic for watching movies and surfing the web. I am still trying out it usage for drone racing and it looks way cooler than the bulky ones out in the market. Best investment I made.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great way to fly drones After using other devices, phones, iPad and FPV goggles, these are my favorite way to fly my Phantom 4 and Mavic Pro drones. The ability to see the drone in flight and what the camera sees is great. The issues with them are old Android version that isn't compatible with many app designed specifically for drone use, ie, DronePrix AR. Also not able to use most apps on Play Store, specifically map apps that would be nice to use. Since Android, also cannot use DJI GS Pro which would be nice to use for preplanned flights; since DJI was instrumental in this design of the glasses, it would be nice of all DJI apps would work with them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great way to fly drones After using the Moverio BT-300 glasses, other FVP goggles, phones and iPad as visual control devices with Phantom 4 and Mavic Pro, for many flights the Moverio glasses are my preferred device. The ability to see both the drone in flight and what the camera is seeing is great. On the down side, the glasses Android version needs to be updated to a later version, preferably at least 6.0 so more apps can be used with the glasses, ie, DronePrix AR, etc. I had a map app working originally, but now cannot get one to work, this is an overall problem not being able to use standard Play Store apps. Also, since the glasses were developed with DJI it would be great if the DJI GS Pro app would work with the glasses so pre-planned flights could be done, it's for this type of flight, as well as DronePrix AR flights, that I'm relegated to using iPad or phone with other FPV goggles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Drone Flying Experience I've been flying drones for over two years and much prefer to fly with some sort of fpv glasses or goggles. These definitely have been designed for and give the best fpv drone flying experience I've had. There are only two negative aspects that I have encountered. The Android OS used in these glasses is drastically stripped down and lacks many of the features and app support usually found in Android. Also, I am in my late 60s and my vision is not that great. Even with corrective eyewear and all of the text settings set at the largest size, it is hard or impossible for me to see the smaller text.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Uses in Search and Rescue I received these glasses a couple of weeks ago. They have worked well so far with no issues except some latency. That problem seems to have disappeared. I have been unable to move the image to the right or left so I sometimes loose the UAV from sight. For this reason you may want to have an observer with you. I am using it in SAR. My current experiment is searching for a 3 year old child size doll in a corn field. As the corn grows higher we will test height and camera angle to find a lost child. The extra shields work well in bright sun light. Over all I would recommend there use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from These things are useless What they don't tell you is that you must sing using a ID number and a password. The sensitivity of the pad even when you choose a harder touch makes it impossible to complete the task without having the mouse having a mind of it's own and whipping out what you started. I spent two days of my life trying to enter an ID number and a password just to get nowhere. Most of the Apps you will us will require a password. Save your time and money and buy a tablet or crystal sky 2000nb monitor. Also the screen for the controller is not large. I can see more with the DJI Google's, but their not FAA 107 compliant for line of sight

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product after some setup Configuring the Epson BT-300 with the DJI GO app took a little bit of time for me. Not as easy as setting up GO on a tablet. Once configured the glasses are easy to use, provide a good pilot experience, and make for simple photography. Pros 1. Good field of view 2. New piloting experience 3. Lightweight and comfortable Cons 1. Needs native HDMI port 2. Sore neck from constantly watching sky and no longer looking at controller
