Carson SL-33 overview

  • 1Description

Avoid the temporary vision impairment that comes after using a bright white light with the SL-33 RedSight Pro Red LED Flashlight from Carson Optical. This compact flashlight employs nine red LEDs that preserve night-acclimated vision and cause less disturbance than white light in dark settings like the theater. It's handy for reading star charts when using a telescope or for working in a darkroom. The light has a glow-in-the-dark green handle so it's easy to find and comes with a carabiner clip for easy portability. The RedSight Pro runs on three user-supplied AAA batteries.

    Carson SL-33 reviews

SL-33 RedSight Pro Red LED Flashlight is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT darkroom safe! My fault, maybe, for making assumptions, but this red flashlight, sold along with darkroom equipment, is far too bright, and NOT paper-safe. I tested it, and even the briefest contact with enlarging paper caused fogging. What were they thinking?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Light, Awesome Price! My staff and I use these lights working with sea turtles, the increased red light output over the previous version is very welcome. Equally nice is the second setting that is dimmer for astronomical work. For the price, they cannot be beat and they hold up well under sandy beach conditions, rain, and saltwater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for night photography, astrophotography Around other astronomical photographers and telescope users, white flashlights are forbidden and might cause considerable upset. This little guy can be bright or too bright, but always LED red. Best $10 I spent on night photography. A head band light would free up two hands, but this guy does the job otherwise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little Flashlight I was originally looking for a flashlight that I could use in the darkroom. This flashlight is excellent. works well, is dependable and at $10 is a steal. Also great when you are doing night photography. Liked it so much I bought two more just in case they discontinue it.
