When using this cable the audio channels on the camera are not used by Tentacle Sync, right? It just keeps the camera TC in sync and I'm free to use the cameras audio channels how I want?
Correct, this cable can be used with a RED camera (except RED One), connected to the 4-pin LEMO TC Sync port. Audio channels will not be effected.

Short answer, no, this particular cable will not work.
However, you CAN send timecode from a Tentacle to the Komodo using a special 9-pin cable to the "ext" port on the back, which will accept timecode in (according to the camera's operation manual - timecode in is on pin #7 for you techies). Other vendors have begun making these cables, but so far nothing from the Tentacle team themselves.
