These official brand tentacle cables are well built, and reliable. Haven't had a fail yet.

I own two of these. Their solid cables so far. I haven't had them for more than a few months but They've held up to some serious abuse that deemed me chewing out a part of the camera department. They are a bit long for anything I need but the slack isn't too much. Both connector sides fit snug in anything I've plugged them in.

Will this cable work to jam to a Deity TC-1 box? Same thing, just the Deity?
Asked by: Kevin
Yes but it is recommended that you use the Deity Microphones C14 instead because of the threaded locking connector.

Based on the direction of the tentacle, is this version a female 5-pin LEMO? I'm hoping to use to power my nucleus nano from my handle
Asked by: Brandon
The LEMO connection on this cable is is male, and it is designed for time code to be sent from a Tenacle Sync TC generator to a device with 5-Pin female TC in.

Could I use this cable to sync timecode from my Atomos Shogun (that has a LEMO port) out to my Sound Devices MixPre-3 via the MixPre-3's Aux-in port? I have a Sony A7III that's generating the timecode out to the Shogun. So, essentially, this cable would connect to the Atomos Shogun's LEMO port and the Shogun would be sending the timecode out to the MixPre-3's 3.5mm AUX-IN. And if so, will recording be triggered from camera, to shogun, to the mixpre? I know the Sony will trigger the shogun, but can the shogun trigger the mixpre with the aforementioned setup? Thanks!

Daniel, thank you for your response. However, that's not an ideal solution. You are correct that you can connect the HDMI output of the Shogun to the Micro-HDMI of the MixPre and get timecode to display. You can also trigger recording on all three devices from the camera. There are two issues with this setup on the Shogun and the Ninja V. 1. The recording on the MixPre constantly stops and starts again, creating many unwanted 1 second WAV files. 2. There's an audible electrical interference sound on the Shogun video recording and when used with the Ninja V there's a beeping sound baked into the video file. Is there any other option to get timecode from an Atomos monitor/recorder to the MixPre? Thanks.

I’m confused if this is the cable to jam sync a Tentacle with a Sound Devices 633, or is it the C02?
Asked by: Terence
The two cables are directional so it depends on which device you are using to generate timecode and which is receiving timecode. You'll see an arrow on the white band near the 3.5mm connector that shows the direction of signal flow for each cable. The C03 is for sending timecode from the 633 into a Tentacle Sync and the C02 is for sending timecode from a Tentacle Sync into the 633.
