Leica HD-B Overview

This edition of the Leica 10x42 Geovid HD-B Rangefinder Binocular commemorates the 25th anniversary of the introduction of the Geovid line with a new forest green armoring. Capable of measuring out to 2200 yards, this binocular fuses the image quality of a fully multi-coated optical path with the functionality of a powerful rangefinder and an integrated ballistics computer.

Leica's Advanced Ballistic Compensation (ABC) technology combines temperature and air pressure readings with rangefinder data, zeroed distance, and a user-defined ballistics curve to calculate ballistic compensation values. To maximize accuracy, the Geovid allows the shooter to input their rifle's zero distance and select a ballistics curve corresponding to the chambered round. The HD-B is pre-loaded with 12 ABC ballistics curves for common calibers and loads, and alternative ballistics curves can be calculated on the Leica website and stored to the Geovid's microSD card for use in the field. An in-view LED display allows the observer to view the calculated ABC values without taking their eyes off the visual scene.

This Geovid binocular has a nitrogen-filled fogproof housing as well as fully multi-coated lenses that transmit bright and color faithful images. Leica's Perger-Porro prism design merges the benefits of roof and Porro styles, delivering a streamlined form factor without sacrificing depth of field or color fidelity. Exposed lens surfaces are finished with Leica's proprietary High Durable (HDC) and AquaDura lens coatings, which repel moisture and prevent dirt from adhering to the glass while offering abrasion-resistance. The ergonomic open bridge design reduces fatigue when viewing, and the five-position twist-up eyecups assure a comfortable experience even when wearing eyeglasses.

Along with the standard Cordura field case, the 2017 edition includes a commemorative carry case.
