Vello FlashBoss Overview

Create gorgeous lighting setups with the Nikon i-TTL-compatible FlashBoss TTL Transceiver from Vello. This TTL transceiver functions as both a transmitter and receiver, and works in tandem with other FlashBoss transceivers. It can be configured to transmit full TTL information from the camera to other FlashBoss Transceivers within the unit's impressive 328' range. Also, the hot shoe located on the top of the transceiver offers pass-through capability for using a flash on camera as well. When using TTL, users have access to multiple sync settings, including first-curtain and high-speed sync at up to 1/8000 second. There is also a threaded PC sync port that provides support for studio strobes and can be used in combination with the delayed time setting to ensure they sync with your other flashes and camera. A USB terminal is available as well and can be used for firmware updates or with an optional shutter release cable for remote triggering of cameras. Additionally, it runs on two AA batteries and comes with a mini stand with 1/4"-20 thread for mounting on a stand or placing on a table.

Note:

The SB-800 is not compatible with this system since it uses older TTL protocols.

Other settings include the ability to set flash coverage, or zoom.
When set as a receiver, or slave, the FlashBoss can be configured to sync and receive signals from a master unit on the same channel. Also, when using an optional shutter release cable a camera can be connected for remote triggering.
First-curtain sync and high-speed sync at up to 1/8000 second are available.

Will this work as a substitute for Nikon SU-800?
Asked by: Waldemar
If you have two Vello FlashBoss TTL Transceivers, you can use this to replace the SU-800. The major difference is that this uses 2.4Ghz RF while the SU-800 used IR to transmit. Your flashes must be able to receive the radio transmission emitted from this device.

question

Hi,will the vello flashboss transceiver to kit for nikon be able to trigger the elinchrome elb 500 title to go set or must the elinchrome transceiver be used?
Asked by: Paul
To trigger the internal Elinchrom Skyport receiver on the ELB 500, it is best to use the Elinchrom EL-Skyport Transmitter Pro for Nikon, B&H # EL19367. You can also trigger the internal Phottix Odin receiver, you can use the Phottix Odin II TTL Flash Trigger Transmitter for Nikon, B&H # PH89069. https://bhpho.to/2LPPI5N https://bhpho.to/2ZkmQWq
