Atomos ATOMCAB017 Reviews
terrible, but the only option for old Shoguns
i read all the reviews about how delicate these are and faithfully babied the adapter, insured strain-relief at all times, no sharp angles or weight. it still failed after maybe 4 or 5 times using it. i didn't bend any pins or tweak the cables, but i plugged it in and couldn't get a good signal - what came through was both severely attenuated and distorted, and unusable. fortunately i had a brand new back up adapter still in the package, but these things are far too expensive to have to carry two because you know they will only last a few uses.
It works just fine, something to know
At first, I thought I was going to need an XY cable as I was only getting audio on the left side. For whatever reason, when I also arm the channels from the camera for recording the audio from mic in the breakout cable is present on both speakers with me having to make it so in editing. Maybe that's handy for someone. I think the build quality is fine, it works for me.
